Kelly Clarkson Never Feels Pressure To Lose Weight
If only that sense of self worth was contagious!
Kelly Clarkson is very happy being the size she is and never feels pressure from the industry to slim down. The American Idol singer says she felt fortunate coming from the show as they never tried to turn her into something she wasn't.
"I feel very fortunate coming from 'American Idol'. I
was the biggest girl
in the group.
"I've always been thicker and millions of people voted for me. People are
born all different
shapes and sizes. People like me this way."
One thing she has given into is wearing the color pink. She held out for a few years, but recently caved and is now ok with the decision.
"Everyone has been trying to put pink on me since I started seven
years ago so now
I've given in. I was always dark before but now I've embraced a new
colorful Charlie's Angels
kind of superhero vibe - except without the super powers. It seems to be
working."

I really like her music. (well the last album "my december?" wasn't that good, but...) And i love that fact that she stays true to herself. she's really like a rolemodel for young girls who starve themself to be accepted.
They hate you when your fat, they hate you when your skinny. You will always be "too" something for anyone to ever appreciate you as is. The fact that your ticket sales represent your voice over your thighs is triumphant enough. Now shut up and sing!
as long as she's healthy and happy then so be it....I really can't see her being skinny anyway, her body isn't built that way.

Love Kelly's new album - it's refreshing to actually see a "celebrity" who is in the public eye to promote a project and not b/c she's out drunk at a club.
She has talent and seems really down to earth. She was on Oprah on Friday and did a great job :) She looks great and looks like most women out there! She's a good role model in my opinion.

Even if her "self worth" (for crying out loud) was contagious, unless you regularly spend time with her (oh I'm sure you'd ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO IT WOULD MAKE YOUR DAY LOL) you wouldn't catch it. My god you grate on my nerves.

Sounds good to me...Kelly isnt exactly a glamour puss or sexy, so she can just be a regular girl, its part of her appeal...She can sing & thats what needs to be focused on, it wouldnt make a difference if she was thinner. Its not like she is a model.
I think she has let herself go - when she won idol she wasn't anorexic skinny, ture, but she looked a lot better than she does now. Bottomline, she is in the public eye in an industry where looks matter and no matter how successful she is, she is selling herself short by not make an attempt to look better.
I think she needs to lose about 30-40lbs.
