Chad Michael Murray is not returning next season to One Tree Hill because of budget cuts. Who is the source to this story you ask? Chad himself!
The actor posted a video complaining that he is not scheduled to return to the show next season.
"They’re not bringing me back next year… because they want to save money. They don’t want me. I’m not joking. This is actually the last scene we’re shooting, right now."
Network bosses have yet to comment on the story.
The video itself was removed last night from You Tube, but not before the press got wind of it.
What do you think? Why would Chad make the video if it wasn’t true?

I personally do not see anything wrong with his comment. He seemed surprised and hurt, that’s all. If it were truly that he wanted a “raise”,the netork would have released a statement saying so. Instead the video has been removed of him of you tube.
Who cares..That show has jumped the shark anyway. The writing has gone down the toilet since the cast graduated high school.

He’s not a very good actor. The show might be better with out him. Everyone else can have better parts without his “serious/concerned” expression which I think is the only expression he has. Hope Hillarie is still on, despite the video she did which made it sound like she would not be back.

There is no way that I will watch One Tree Hill if Lucas isn’t on it. He’s the main character! The whole show is based around his presence – NONE of this stuff would have happened if Lucas hadn’t joined the basketball team. NONE of it. And yet Chad’s the one they’re kicking off? Does that really make sense? If anything, cut some minor characters. Like… Mouth or Skillz (as much as I ADORE them). Lucas is the main CHARACTER! There is no logic to kicking him off, none at all. So, I will repeat myself – I will not watch next season if Lucas is not there. Absolutely not.
OMFG are you serious!!!! there is no way they can take chad off the show! they just had the baby!!! WTF!!! he and hailie are what made this show! F the director he doesnt know what he is talking about if he is seriously making that decision!!!! They cant just end the show like that!!!!

seriously, I don’t think cmm should be taken off the show. if anyone should be taken off it should be hillarie burton aka, the chiefmourner/ backstabbing bitch. i never really liked her. I soooooooooo prefered brooke. i mean at the begining of the season i was praying it would be haley . anyway please keep cmm on or else end the damn show.

I just think it is Bull Shit the show should be canceled if you dont let LUCAS and PEYTON come back. They make the show. I know for a fact I’m not going to watch ONE TREE HILL ANY MORE, and you know what alot of people aren’t going to so i bet by jan 2010 the show is cancelled.

I cant believe they would do this…after all is this not Luke’s book? It just does not make any sense what so ever and all I have to say is if CMM and HB are not on season 7 I wont be watching.
wow…what a disappointment/just found this out no lucas and peyton..Ive watched this show since the very first epesode….should have ended the show with a bang at the end of season 6 if they had not planned on bringing them back…/it will not be the same this season…for sure
I have been a fan of OTH for the last 6 years. Purchasing all the seasons and continously watching each season for the last 6 years on the CW. Hearing the news that “Leyton” Chad Micheal Murray (Lucas Scott) And Hillarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer) Would not be returning for the 7th season was devistating and tear jerking. The fact the rest of the cast is continuing to recording episodes is great, but I just don’t feel the same vibe will be comming from the show. Adding three new characters is going to completley tare appart the bond that James Lafferty (Nathan Scott), Bethany Joy Galeotti (Hailey James- Scott) and Sophia Bush (Brooke Davis) have left and turn OTH into a completley different show. I’ve seen alot of sneek previews and am not impressed with the decisions Mark has made to continue with OTH. If Chad is asking for more money, he and Hillarie have made OTH what it is and they should be granted a higher income for taking the show to the next levels it wouldn’t of reached without them. I can see OTH Becoming a large Flop this season and one they will not be able to recover from. I remember back when Marissa Cooper was Killed of of the HIT Show THE. OC! which soon also FLOPED! You can not take prime characters out of a much loved drama tv show and expect it not to take a turn for the worst.
I also beleive if Chad Murray, and Hillare Burton were not able to return to OTH for whatever reason they should have done a small cut season to finish off season 6 before copies were sold and ended the season with ALL THE ORGINIAL CHARACTERS!/ If you wanted to Kill off a character WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR PAUL JOHANSSON (DAN SCOTT) TO BE GONE FOR ATLEAST 5 SEASONS??WHERE WERE YOU ON THAT?

i dont like the new one tree hill it lame….i have watched one tree hill from the first episode and its him the show is about. dont see the sense to watch it anymore. its gonna lose ratings
I don’t watch now that Leyton is gone. I REFUSE to. Mark and the CW can eat this Clay dude, seriously? You get rid of Chad and Hilarie for him????????? Get rid of Victoria, Dan, and Rachel, to name a few. And then you’d have the money to bring back Chad and Hilarie! Leyton always!
The show is still amazing. The writing is still amazing. I love itg when Paul Johanson directs or mark directs. I don’t now what u guys r talking about Peyton and Lucas were getting old. Not to mention Cmm was getting ugly. Peyton’s hair was insanely uncool in season 6. She’s supposed to have curly hair jeez. i am an INSANE fan of the show. It is GENIUS can’t take my eyes of of it expecially when paul directs. I don’t think Hilarie wanted to leave actually. U can’t have peyton without lucas. And if they did it would suck. That’s why hers was an informed descion while his sucks. Anyways season 6 leyton sucked

He’s an actor and a terrible one at that. The CW offered him a pay raise, but it wasn’t to his liking. I’m glad they didn’t give him what he wanted. I hated Leyton anyway. Chad wanted out of his contract for years. This was just an excuse to get his fans to feel sorry for him, when it was him being an ASS and a DOUCHE over his salary. No surprise there.

I have watched OTH since the beginning and I can’t imagine this show with him not on it. I mean his and Nathan’s stories are the basis of the show? I also heard Hilarie (Peyton) isn’t coming back next season either. They are certainly setting it up that way on the show.

I am not a big fan of CMM, and was never a fan of the pairing between Lucas/Peyton on the show, so it affects me zero if they don’t come back. I just love Sophia Bush and Nathan/Haley so if they’re there, I’m there!
