Amy Winehouse Takes Up Smoking Banana Skins
Amy Winehouse has taken up a new vice while living on St. Lucia - smoking banana skins. Have you ever heard of this? It's the first for me.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper:
"Amy wandered onto a private
porch on Cariblue Beach and began speaking to a group of locals who were
smoking banana skins.
"he made sure there wasn't anything really bad in them because she's being
so good now."They made one in front of her using dried strings from the inside of the
peel instead of tobacco, and putting it onto a piece of rolling paper. She
loved it and has taken to drying her own peel in the sun and smoking it in
the evening."
Amy is happier off the drugs and will keep to this natural habit as it fits with her new lifestyle.
"I'm clean now and feel much better for it. I'm
just a normal girl now."
The singer's behavior on the Caribbean island seems to reflect her words.
Looking tanned and relaxed, the 25-year-old star was seen barefoot riding a
horse on the beach after tucking into a pizza.
Amy's record company have reportedly decided to embrace their star's quest
to start a new life in St. Lucia - where she enjoyed a three-month holiday
earlier this year - and are planning to finance a recording studio in her
new home, so she can work on new tracks for the follow up to award-winning
album 'Back To Black'.

Well, if she's clean than she shouldn't feel the need to smoke banana peels... but it's better than crack I guess.=^_^=
banana peels contain small amounts of THC, the same chemical in marijuana that passes the blood brain barrier to make the smoker feel the high. this is probably why she is doing it, although you need to smoke a whole lot of banana peels to feel the high.
The Dead Milkmen sang a song about smoking banana peels in 1988. It's on the album Beezlebubba.

I am old enough to remember 1966 when Scottish singer named Donovan had a popular song called "Mellow Yellow" that got people started smoking banana peels. Paul McCartney did backup whispering vocals on this song.

She is so burnt out, she is just looking for a new way to get high, it has nothing to do with her being "good". It must be tough when you have done practically everything. She should just stick to smoking pot with a vaporizer (to protect her sick lungs) & quit everything else.

I heard about this back in school... supposed to make you high... never tried it though.
