Chris Brown has just appeared in L.A. County Criminal Courthouse and pled not guilty to two felony charges: one count of making criminal threats and one count of assault. Rihanna was not in attendance.
According to TMZ, the two sides were trying to reach a plea bargain, but apparently it didn’t happen. However, they are reportedly "close" to reaching one.
How does Chris plan to explain this?
Chris is reportedly due back in court on April 29.
Update: Rihanna’s attorney, not Chris’ attorneys, spoke to reporters after the hearing and said that she would be pleased "if it [the case] were over quickly" (implying she supports a plea bargain).However, Rihanna’s attorney said she would cooperate with the prosecution if she were ordered to do so.

I bet Chris Brown won’t spend a single day in jail. Money and celebrity almost always secures the offender a free pass. It’s absolutely repulsive the way our justice system works, because if a regular person behaved the way Chris Brown did they would serve jail time. Guaranteed.
I just read somewhere that a man slapped his wife/girlfriend (I’m not sure) and he got 120 days in jail. So how come Chris Brown is still not in jail? I have to say I’m not surprised. When you are a celeb, you don’t go to jail for beating someone up or even killing people, you just have to pay a fine. As if spending money is teaching them a lesson! That’s what they do all they long!

Well when he confesses to not being guilty he clearly needs a wake up call.. .. he needs to know and understand boundaries… He needs to be a victim to have a better understanding of justice… and since he is a star with money he wont go to jail he will just get a slap on the wrist.. so don’t worry he wont get raped he will prob beat the crap out of the next girl to come along.

I read they offered him 30 days in the slammer during the plea bargain process but he didn’t want to do any jail time. Must be nice to have so many options.
