Rachel McAdams Wants To Raise Her Kids On A Farm

While being interviewed by Marie Claire magazine, 30-year-old Rachel McAdams admitted her love for growing up in a small town. The actress says she would love to raise a family in an environment similar to her own experience in Ontario, Canada.

"I would give it a good shot for a while.

I grew up in a small town, with a small backyard and raspberry bushes. My parents had a garden, but it was very basic.

"I think one thing that kids who grow up on farms really have going for them is they have exposure to death and birth in a totally different way. I think it takes away a little bit of the mystery and a little bit of the fear, and I do wish I had that."

Rachel is currently dating Josh Lucas.

If you were able to raise a family anywhere in the world, where would it be? Would you consider giving farm life a shot?

I just love her. As for raising kids, I can see what she's saying about the benefits of farm life, but city living has its advantages too. In the city my daughter is exposed to all different types of people, and there is so much to see and do.

I'm not familiar with her work, but her statements make me think that she is more interested in acting as a craft, and is not so much in it for the celebrity. I think it sounds very healthy to raise the kids out of the spotlight in a "real" environment. She'll have the funds to bring them into the city for cultural or educational oppurtunities, and probably be able to travel with them as well. I like the sound of it.

She's definitely got the right idea about raising kids. I grew up in the country (not a farm though) and as an adult now, I'm very happy I did. She's right that it gives a different perspective on life and death. Good for her that she's not obsessed with being a "celebrity".

She's right, I grew up in a very small town and now, living in the city, I notice how my daughter doesn't have a clue with a lot of stuff I was familiar with at her age.

I can't wait to watch The time traveler's wife!
