Now that Nicollette Sheridan is off Desperate Housewives, she isn't holding anything back! First, she said the show isn't as good as it used to be, so having her character killed off wasn't upsetting.

'When the show started it was such a different beast,' she tells the new issue of TV Guide. 'It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre. It
started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating.'

She says she would've left sooner, but all the women were 'contractually bound, so there was no way out on your own terms.' "

It sounds like there may have been some tension behind the scenes, too. Nicollette reportedly complained that the creater/showrunner, Marc Cherry, "ignored her" and "rarely [spoke] about [Nicollette] in interviews."

'Somebody up there really wanted [Edie] dead. I think whoever Edie
represented in Marc's life was somebody he didn't like. And he had a
very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.'

'When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?' "

On his end, Marc said he let Nicollette go because he had to cut costs and her character had run its course.

'Edie's already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could,' he says.

'We will find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane.'

'What I won't do is cast another fortysomething sexy blonde,' he
adds. '[Sheridan] performed the aging, neighborhood tramp better than
anyone has ever done before.' "

OUCH! Oh no he didn't!

This is strictly my interpretation, of course, but it sounds like these two did not get along. At all. What do you think?
