Now that Nicollette Sheridan is off Desperate Housewives, she isn’t holding anything back! First, she said the show isn’t as good as it used to be, so having her character killed off wasn’t upsetting.
‘When the show started it was such a different beast,’ she tells the new issue of TV Guide. ‘It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre. It
started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating.’She says she would’ve left sooner, but all the women were ‘contractually bound, so there was no way out on your own terms.’ "
It sounds like there may have been some tension behind the scenes, too. Nicollette reportedly complained that the creater/showrunner, Marc Cherry, "ignored her" and "rarely [spoke] about [Nicollette] in interviews."
‘Somebody up there really wanted [Edie] dead. I think whoever Edie
represented in Marc’s life was somebody he didn’t like. And he had a
very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.’‘When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?’ "
On his end, Marc said he let Nicollette go because he had to cut costs and her character had run its course.
‘Edie’s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could,’ he says.
‘We will find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane.’
‘What I won’t do is cast another fortysomething sexy blonde,’ he
adds. ‘[Sheridan] performed the aging, neighborhood tramp better than
anyone has ever done before.’ "
OUCH! Oh no he didn’t!
This is strictly my interpretation, of course, but it sounds like these two did not get along. At all. What do you think?

My impression of Nichole is a self absorbed, vain, diva… she’s so annoying, as as for her charater… zzzzz

I think the guy is stupid the way he said it. I never liked edie but nicolilte plays her well.That what good actress do. May be it is true the guy is deulsioned and confuised the character with real life.
I watch this show with a passion that only rivals NCIS and Edie has not been a major player in a long time. Nicollette has not been a major player since the big scandal about Terri Hatcher wanting all of the face time in the pictures. I enjoy Dana Delaney more than Ms Sheridan anyway. And as for the 40 something sexy blonde comment I think he was being nice, there is nothing sexy about a prune and that’s what she looks like without her makeup.

That fat bitter queen Marc Cherry s just jealous that he’s too too fat and too old and too male to play her role! Anyone who knows him personally knows that people only hang with him because he has money, al of his bf’s cheat on him, and that he has a Tiny Weenie! I only dated him because I felt sorry for him. I wish I had never bothered. I’m so glad I dumped that vienna sausage! This show will be a total bore without her. The best season was a few seasons ago when the red head took a break and Edie got more lines. Those were great episodes! Now, I’m not eveb going to TIVO it. The rest of the cast is a snore. I love Dana Delany, but even she is a bore in tis show.

Edie was wonderful, and I really like her. I would much rather MC kill off Susan. She annoys me to no end.
