Bea Arthur Dies At 86

Bea Arthur, an actress who we all know and love from her time on Golden Girls and in the theatre, has passed away at the age of 86. The family's rep, Dan Watt has announced Bea died in her sleep with loved ones by her side.

Dan Watt, a spokesman for Arthur's family, told the Associated Press that the star had been suffering with cancer, though he did not specify what kind. She died peacefully at her Los Angeles home with her family by her side, said Watt, who remembered Arthur as "a brilliant and witty woman."

She was an amazing actress and a wonderful mother. RIP

The last five years of my mom's life was riddled with a cancer battle. One thing she really enjoyed when she couldn't do much else, was Golden Girls. Watching it reminds me of the time I spent with her, and it still gives me comfort. Thank you for that Bea Arthur. Rest in Peace.

I had just finished a marathon GG when I heard the news. She was wonderful and the show is still lovely, hideous clothes and all. May she and her family have peace now.

Thank goodness for Bea Arthur and the Golden Girls, if not for shows like that and the People's Court, etc. my summer's as a junior higher would have been even more dismally dull
