Third Twilight Director Issues Mea Culpa To Twilight Fans
The hazards of saying mean things in public. 'Eclipse' director David Slade, who recently agreed to direct the third film in the 'Twilight' franchise, is experiencing that now; he apparently had some not-so-nice things to say about the 'Twilight' before getting his latest gig.
'Twilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on
acid? No, not even on acid? Twilight at gun point? Just shoot me,' he
said in the clip."
David also reportedly criticized the first movie, 'Twilight,' on his twitter account, but the account is now deleted, so there's no record of it.
David has issued an apology to the fans via the Twilight Lexicon.
'I was promoting a comedy short film that I had
made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible
comedy target,' he wrote.'I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.' "
Now David said he has actually read the books and seen the first movie and has become "quickly consumed" with the world and characters.

I avoided this bandwagon for so long and someone loaned me first book on Sunday. I was finished on Tues. and I am hoooooooked. I am not watching Twilight until I finish the series though. Movies never measure up. I have New Moon in my purse right now and it is taking all my strength not to start secretly reading it under my desk at work right now. So, I can see why, before reading the books, he could think this was just some dumb story - I wasn't interested in the least but it is just good fun to read it. Addictive! I have an English degree and have read alot of "important" books but every now and then you need guilty pleasures like this! There is no shame in it!!
