Kate Gosselin Says She And Jon Are Weathering The Storm
Talk about the limelight getting too harsh! By now all of you know about Us Weekly's allegations that Jon Gosselin of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' is having an affair with Deanna Hummel, a woman he was photographed leaving a club with (along with video of him leaving her home).
The timing of all this couldn't have been worse for Kate Gosselin, who is in the middle of a book tour to promote her book,'Eight Little Faces.' Today she appeared on the 'Today' show (Jon and the children were scheduled to appear with her, but Jon stayed home with the children instead), where Meredith Vieira asked about the furor.
'I'm very hesitant to believe any of it. It goes with the territory.'
'Our kids are centrally in our focus, they always have been. They are
very much loved, very well cared for...that will be how it's going to
be.'She later added, 'We're not perfect. I don't have all the answers... We're doing our best and learning how we go.'"
Kate declined to discuss the situation in further detail, even addressing the irony of the situation.
We're dealing with it privately. It's kind of ironic since we do have a
reality show and people see the good, the bad and the ugly. But there
are those things we keep to ourselves, and we're working through it
together, and that's the important thing."
For the record, Deanna has repeatedly denied having an affair with Jon, and Jon himself has denied having an affair. Meanwhile, Deanna's brother has continued to insist that Deanna and Jon have been having an affair.

why wouldn't he have an affair? i saw an old episode of them and she USED to be so nice and kind and loving for him...the one where she had the tummy tuck and got her hair blonde 'for john'...from what i watch now, she's not so much that way anymore.
WOW...why wouldn't he? Think about it....thats a pretty dumb statement! So what ...she doesn't run around trying to be perfect for him? SHE HAS 8 KIDS!! So because she doesn't have the same interest that gives him the right? Why should she go the extra mile for him....he clearly is unenthusiastic about everything and only does what is expected of him...never going the extra mile. If he doesn't want to be with Kate leave Kate....don't go sneaking around with a young girl, like you are still in high school!
People need to get a CLUE. This is their BUSINESS!! They are media savvy and they have PR and TV exec's building them into a brand. What a funny coincidence that this huge affair story broke the same time she's already on the Today Show for her book appearance. Give me a break.

I don't blame her husband at all. She is so degrading and down right mean to him... I'm not sure how he tolerates it honestly. I thought it was funny when Meridith basically asked if she sometimes would like to walk away from it all because of things like this and in a nutshell she basically says no. I find that sad since it has apparently been a very large price to pay. (basically her family/marriage)
Ughhhhhhhhhh her hair :-< Please Kate grow the back spikey thing out. It looks insane!!!!!!! As far as the interview goes, I saw it this morning and not once did she mention that her and John love each other. She just kept on saying they are working through it and they both love the kids very much. That statement is very representative of the past few seasons of John and Kate plus 8. They have a machine going there on TLC and I think maybe they should slow that machine down and focus on each other. Kinda hard with all those beautiful kids but very neccessary if they would like to salvage their relationship. I can relate to them having very young children and a set of twins also. It is extremely difficult to focus on your spouse and then add in an entire production crew on top of that. They seemed to have a lovely relationship in the begining.
I completely agree, she needs to remember their time together before the show and get that back. She seems to have changed alot and turned into a monster. She treats him like an animal, so he is now behaving like one.
You freaking morons act like its her fault he dipped his wick in someone else's ink. WTF? She is raising 8 kids. Imagine what their lives would be like if it were left up to him. No way he could do it. So once again, a woman has to stand up and be the MAN and the woman in the relationship. Stop bashing Kate. If you were taking care of 8 kids and dealing with him (the 9th kid... by the way) you would snap too!
She's not raising those kids. They have tons of nannies doing most of the work; how else would she be able to constantly travel all over the country promoting the book? While she's off promoting the book (and this is the 2nd book, so this has been going on for awhile), Jon's at home and those poor kids are being raised by their surrogate family. It's sad because she is too busy cashing in on the kids to enjoy watching them grow up (although I guess that's what all the cameras are for, huh?). BTW, I used to watch the show & defend her; not anymore. After I realized what a sham it has become coupled with the fact that she is not concerned with being a parent, I couldn't defend her or the show anymore.

I wasn't really listening to what she was saying because her hair is so distracting and it bugs the crap out of me.....that is one god awful hair style!!

she is so manipulative & so mean. have absolutely no sympathy for her. none whatsoever. the show as is...is a complete charade. tlc should either cancel it or air it 'realistically' by showing the nannies, the housekeeper, the chef...including all of jon's extra-curricular activities whatever those may be.

I'd be surprised if he even could have an affair considering she all but castrates him every single episode. I used to love that show but I had to stop; between that miserable Mady and Kate's general nastiness to everyone, I couldn't take it anymore.

She's hesitant to believe it, and he's sorry he caused his family embarassment, but neither of them said anything about loving one another or being committed to their marriage.
My guess? Their marriage is a sham and has been for a long time. They are con artists, pure and simple.
my opinion is that she could have been a really good person and they could have been realy happy together, but it went sour. there have been previous allegations of him cheating so maybe this NOW public matter has been something they were privately dealing with. bottom line, if her husband is cheating on her, it's not ok. no matter how she treats him. if he wants out, divorce her, don't cheat on her and add public embarassment for her and all their children!

HAHAHA, yeah she has hands down, the worst hair ever! And she has had it that way for years. I cant believe she doesn't have someone in her life who loves her to let her know how horrendous she looks.
Then again, it seems like it may be hard to love her being that she is psycho...
Please give the woman a break. I am sure each and everyone of you is sweet and lving to your husband and kids 24/7. She doesn't deserve to be dragged through the mud, IF Jon cheated he is the bad guy here. He has a lovely family and should never have put them in this position. I feel very bad for Kate and the children.

By some of the comments here it proves how mean, catty and UN-supportive of each other some women can be. Women are very evil when they want to be, I rather be in the company of wolves.

CDAN is saying that the ex boyfriend of the Hummel woman has a sex tape of her that he is now offering up for sale. Between her brother and her ex-boyfriend... =O IMHO, things are rarely black and white in a marriage, it is easy to see the faults on both sides. Unfortunately people rarely see them for themselves until it is far too late. And nonhabitual cheating can be forgiven and forgotten, if both recommit themselves to making things work. Unfortunately (again!), few want to make the effort.

I saw a few of the earlier episodes of this show and they really seemed to be in love and happy to share their family with the world, but in recent episodes they look like they can't stand to be around each other. She does seem to have changed from the beginning of the show to now, but who really knows whats going on? I think the kids are adorable, so I hope that things can be worked out.
yeah you don't know what HE might have done to make her so miserable. i'm not saying that's what happened, just give her a little credit. we don't know what's going on and we all know reality shows aren't really REALITY

I don't think that Jon and Kate are quite as happy as they seem. They're always bicking at each other. He pretty much takes it. I just think that they got married way to young and then now they have 8 kids to take care of with no help. That's hard enough right there to deal with. I understand they want to deal with this privately but they can't, they have a reality show. One slip, and the whole world will know just what's going on between them.

She looks and sounds drugged!! No matter what she said (totally scripted), you know Jon's paying for it at home. No way this woman is letting him get away with it. I took from the interview that I believe he's confessed to her and they are working on it.
like she said the kids are the focus. There is very little focusing on "self" at this point. Or at least it should be. What ever Jon chooses to do will affect him and his childern for the rest of his life so he better choose wisely.

This picture of her is just frightening. Anyway - that said, she is SO into the media attention and does not want to give it up - for anything. And apparently, they have had "help" with the cooking and cleaning and managing the kids - she has NOT done it all herself. So, I have no sympathy for her in that regard.
One of the national news shows, last night, had some attorneys remarking that "have you noticed that no mention has been made about obtaining an attorney to file suit for slander or denial"? And it does make one pause for thought - they're not making much effort to put the kabash on it - they're just "weathering the storm". Well darlin, I think your boat is about to sink! And take that stupid show with you - along with the skunk hairdo.

As for her husband running around, and people here condoning his behavior, all I have to say is WOW. If you really think that it is ok for someone to run around on their husband/wife, then I am sad for you.
If he is as miserable as he looks (and he usually looks miserable), then he should get a legal separation or divorce. It's never acceptable to run around on someone like that!! Period.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that their marriage is just a piece of paper at this point. I wouldn't consider what Jon did cheating because I would assume that they are both free to do as they please in their free time. The marriage is to keep the show; it's all about the show and the money. If he did sleep with that other woman, I'm not going to call it cheating because I just don't think that they are in a committed marriage. If that were the case, she would have kicked him to the curb, plain and simple. She has the money and the help - it's not like she needs him. She's a pit bull and there's no way she'd put up with cheating. It's either a PR stunt or they are in an open marriage and she could care less (in fact, I'd bet she's got someone on the side, too).
If I have to see that horrid hairstyle one more minute I am going to vomit. How on God's green earth can she think this looks good?!!? Good Lord, Kate ~ cut it, grow it out, do something ... anything but this ridiculous hairstyle you have now!!!! And my husband and I used to watch the show from day one, but she has gotten so mean, controlling and condescending that we have quit watching. And I do think Jon is having an affair ~ but who could blame him living with that shrew ...
i think it is rude and emasculating the way she talks at him. and he should grow some balls and not just take it! but perhaps, her behavior is a response to his cheating....? that would make me lose all respect and politeness for my husband.

i hope all of this blows over and they get on with there life and stay together but maybe they should think about getting off the t.v. for awhile and work on the marriage and there children and then maybe after they work through everthing they can start back up or not
i think they need to get out of the public eye for awhile and were on the marriage and let the children have some privacey and see if i all works out and then if they wont to come back or not i just hope they can work every thing out and stay together for the children.

This comment is for both Jon and Kate. You two are good people no matter what any of you did to each other, people do things for no reason at times. I was in a similar incident. It does not mean he does not love you Kate. I really cant tell you what is going on with him and this other female. I think time can be a good thing and a bad thing. Sometimes we need to sit back and evaluate how we come off to are spouse. In the shows before I looked at you two and saw LOVE....... Fame can really mess a relationship up. You lose all aspect of everything. Maybe go back to that period where all you knew was you to and the kids. Jon it hurts to betrayed by your spouse. I think you need to give your self some time to think about what you want. With another woman their it is a distraction. You're a good man dont ever forget that. Please Jon and Kate dont do for the kids do it because you love each other. Kate you're a good mother dont stress over the small talk you will prevail. One lesson I learned he will never stay with that little girl. God loves you two
