Well for most of our wedding anniversaries my husband has been deployed but for this last wedding anniversary he was here and I gave him a little boy for his present….. I told him not to expect that every year though lol….Tori has an odd face but they sure do seem to love each other and i think once two people marry it is no longer one persons money it is both of partners money but perhaps that is me being old fashion…about him leaving his wife for her I think that was not cool at all but we don’t know what was really going on in that relationship
I think the ring thing can probably get pretty excessive. Special gifts like those are nicer, in my opinion, to receive less frequently. Last year, for our first anniversary, we got eachother a book in keeping with the Paper tradition and we went on a three day romantic trip to a B & B. This year we are very lucky to be going to Europe during our anniversary. Next year we will be back to the more practical celebrations though : )

Actually today is my 8th anniversary and we are going away for the weekend-without the kids of course. That is our present to each other. The gift giving just gets to be too much for us-all of our ‘occasions’ are in spring/summer. So the getaway is a much needed and appreciated gift!

Can I take a second to snort at your “when you love someone it’s no longer one persons money” comment. We’re talking about celebrities here. Oops! I mean, 1 celebrity who’s only famous ’cause of her dad and Dean. What’s sad is that his previous wife is probably way more normal looking than Tori (which isn’t really hard to beat), nice, sweet and great. Tori’s a homewrecking whore and I hope he does the same thing to her that he did to his ex. Probably not possible though him being so unattractive and all. They shouldn’t reproduce anymore though. People, just ’cause you think your baby is cute doesn’t mean it is!

Well it seems that the topic got off track but hey that is the point perhaps. I think it is a great tradition if you can afford. I would have to say that perhaps for the rest of us a more simple show of continued affection on an anniversary is a great thing and should be considered. We can’t all keep up with the celeb families but it isn’t supposed to be all about money…. is it?
