Edie Falco’s dog inspired her to adopt.
The former ‘Sopranos’ star – who raises four-year-old adopted son Anderson and adopted daughter Macy, one, alone – decided to give two children a home after becoming attached to the pet.
She said:
“I have this dog named Marley, and it is a kind of love I had never known. I have a hard time believing Marley did not come from my body. I know that sounds insane, but I feel that connected to her. She made me realize I wanted to adopt children.”
The 45-year-old actress – who beat both alcoholism and breast cancer while starring in the Sopranos – hopes her dog will help her find a man next.
She joked to Parade.com:
“If only I could find a boyfriend for whom I could buy a can of food and clean up after on the street, I’d be set. Maybe I should put that ad on Match.com!
“I’m just not one of those people who thought having biological children was that important. To me it was more about wanting to raise a child.”
I love Edie! She needs to get on another hit show so we can see more of her on a weekly basis.

I swear I've read many times that she was a lesbian?? Am I crazy? Does anyone else recall reading/hearing that? P.S. Vera, she'll be starring in the series Nurse Jackie starting June 4th. :)

If she was a lesbian I am sure she would be open about it, she doesn't seem like the type to bite her tongue. She seems very honest and open.

I can't believe that she's NOT a lesbian!! I mean, on the Soprano's I thought she looked really fem, but on Nurse Jackie (LOVE IT!!) she looks so friggin` butch, if she wasn't a lesbian, I would be killing the producers for making me look butch. (Not that there's anything wrong with it...)
It doesn't matter that she's banging the Rx guy or her husband on the kitchen floor...when you have a haircut like that....and a body like that, I'd worry about it...
Oh, and Eddie, if you are reading this, don't bother with match.com... It's a waste of your time... It's mostly just older men looking for 20 year olds, or for older women that they want a 1 night stand....(hence the name they give it...which is 'snatch.com')
I've just started the dating scene after being a widow for 16 years and I'd rather just stay at my 40 acre farm that is backed up to 2,000 acres of state forest... I'm much happier... I'm too old fashioned and too classy for the men now (at least where I am)
So, until they change their attitudes and get a little class...I'd stick with raising the kids....
They bring you more joy....
