Jon And Kate Plus 8 Mom To Release New Cookbook - Love Is In The Mix: Making Meals Into Memories

Personally, I would be curling up in a corner and crying myself to sleep if I had to deal with what Kate Gosselin is going through right now. The 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' season opener made me cry for this family and their disconnect.
But the people who are surrounding Kate and are responsible for her career have no intentions of giving this couple some time to get back to normal. Instead, the mom of 8 is about to begin yet another book tour promoting her latest of three - Love is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories.
The cookbook is supposed to help its readers learn to:
- "craft family traditions that create happy memories"
- "feed a large family on a budget."
- make lunchtime fun
- plan meals for vacations
- make ordinary days "extra special"
- handle picky eaters
- nutritious recipes and tips on eating organically
Um... SIGN ME UP! Half of this list I need help with! LOL
Naturally, there is controversy surrounding this release as well. Many are claiming that Kate plagiarized most of her recipes.

Although excerpts from the book have not yet been released, commenters have already begun slamming the star's previously released recipes and claim she stole them "from product boxes and magazine articles."
One person wrote that her recipe for the cereal treat Monkey Munch -- which was mentioned on the TLC show -- is the same as one on the Chex brand website and calls it "plagiarism."
Other commenters were shocked that the woman who once said that "real cooks don't need recipes" was qualified to write a cookbook. They wrote on Amazon.com that on the show, Kate does little to "no cooking, no meals, just snacks -- crackers, yogurt, grapes, cukes and peppers in pita. The woman can't cook."
Mmmmnnn peppers in pita. Odds are DESPITE all the nay saying - this book will make the NY Times Best Seller's list. Will you be one of the people who purchase it?
Here is something I just quite don't understand.. Kate is going through a lot of things in her life right now and she tries to say she doesn't want to have all this attention in the media, well then why put out books and do all sorts of interviews. In my opinion she is turning into a real media whore!

And what makes this woman an authority? Just because she has 2 sets of multiples and her own tv show doesn't make her one. Like she is the one taking care of them. Seems like she is always away promoting something, plus they have their own chef. I would rather get advice from my mom or mil(if I had young kids). At least that is real and not fabricated.

The book was started before the drama that Jon created. So, why exactly shouldn't she sell it? Don't be ridiculous.
Somebody is apparently obsessed with Kate Gosselin now. First, Katie Holmes and her boyfriend jeans, now this. lol
I dont understand why people hate this woman so much. I mean she has to keep working! If I was going through something like this I cant afford to sit and cry for weeks...I have to work to support my daughter. I am sure she makes way more money than I do, but she also has way more children to take care of...children are expensive, clothes, doctor appt. braces, glasses, food, education, activities, gifts, etc. She has 8 college educations to pay for. Yes she has sponsors but she wont have them forever! She is planning for the future people! Her attitude sucks sometimes but if she didnt have that attitude where would she be? John seems like such a boring, lazy man and she is the one that is out there always!! because she wants her children to have the best. We woman judge eachother so much is sad.
I wont buy the cook book, because I honestly dont need it..but I hope she sells it well and makes money...those adorable children deserve the best!
They do not have 8 college educations to pay for, the state of Pennsylvania set up college funds for all 8 when they were born, though the Gosselins continue to lie about this fact. The twins private school/future college is well paid for by this point by the wealth they have amassed. They also are not struggling financially, they make $55,000 per episode (22 episodes per season now in its 5th season), their 1.2 million dollar mansion was paid for by TLC, they receive free clothes for all the children at Gymboree and free clothes for the older girls and themselves at the Gap, they have an organic chef paid for by TLC that prepares all their meals which are delivered daily, they have multiple vehicles all free, not to mention all leisure activities and vacations are paid for by sponsors and TLC. TLC also provides them with full medical/dental for the entire family. Jon and Kate continue to give speaking engagements which they claim poverty, all proven to be lies and ask for $25,000 by the churches as well as "love donations" from the congregations. So with all financial areas covered, no mortgage, no car loans, no food bills, no medical/dental insurance to pay, no college costs, no clothing costs and whatever additional life expenses covered by one episode's paycheck...They haven't paid for a thing since the 8 children were born, earn well over a million dollars a year from the show/endorsements/book deals/speaking engagements and have little to no expenses and Kate is frugal and saving most of the money earned, so I'm sure they have a sizable savings account. Exactly how are they struggling to survive? I'm not knocking their hustle, I'm knocking the insincerity of the "we're an average struggling family" claims.
She definitely makes more money than you. It has been reported numerous times that the Gosselins are paid between 50,000 and 75,000 PER EPISODE. Last season there were 40 episodes and this season has 41 more.
Forgot to add that these two con-artists pay for absolutely nothing, all the while making everyone think they are struggling and taking care of their eight children themselves. They do nothing...only when the cameras are rolling. Kate cook a meal, that would probably be a cold day in H---. Sorry, these two just make my blood boil.

I agree. There's another picture of Jon at a bar with 2 women on Memorial Day weekend while Kate is on an outing with the kids in North Carolina. Who's the grown up here? She's acting like a responsible adult. Why should she fall apart. What good would that do? How would that help the kids? BTW she didn't always have a personal chef. She did use coupons to save. She is the one who fed a family of 10. Give her some credit. I really wish you haters would walk in her shoes.

The clothes are free, ALL of them, as are the dentist bills. These people have had so many freebies given to them, including trips to Hawaii, tummy tucks, hair plugs, etc. They just need more and more it seems, even while their marriage is in shambles, and the family is split. A very sad situation all around. And, no, it is not about women judging each other. The whole country sees right through these 2 people.

Jon was an IT person who worked up until his wife made him quit so he could stay home with the kids while she parades her lies to any congregation who will pay her to. She is also a nurse who can go back to nursing to make a living now that the 5 yr olds go to school. There are parents of multiples all over the world who do not parade their children or profit from them. She does not need "millions" to survive she just needs to go back to nursing and start spending time with the children who now confuse her with the babysitter. Yeah I want advice from a "parent" who doesn't even bother to parent...lol.
jon didn't quit his job, he was fired because he was constantly surfing the internet looking for freebies for his family instead of doing his job.

A family of 10 could never live on Jon's $50,000 per year (less after taxes) IT salary. If the show ends tomorrow, he could NOT support that family and Kate knows that. Why should she go back to nursing if she doesn't want to and doesn't have to. Now, she has the ability to be home when the kids get out of school, when they're out sick etc. Her selling books is helping to provide her that freedom of choice. So, what. Why does she have to make money the way you think she should? Who made you the expert. At least she is doing something unlike Jon who just wants to party like he's 20 years old. uh...how exactly is getting on a private car for the Thomas the Train ride helping to pay for college?
Or, is it the box seats at the Phillies game? (Maybe they were saving the money they WOULD have spent for box seats and a locker room visit with the players, along with jerseys and bats and balls for every -- for their college education).
Or perhaps it was the floor seats at the Harlem Globetrotters where they sat with dying children from Make-a-wish?
Maybe they renewed their vows in Hawaii and went to California's Legoland and skiing with a luxury chalet in park city utah or the trip to Disney World or their upcoming Overseas trip with The Divorcing Duo -- all to SAVE for college?
I guess when the parents got custom made motorcycles from American Chopper - they were setting aside the money for college by accepting freebie motorcycles - oh! and then going out withOUT helmets for a little spin!!
Nice that they're thinking of their 8 children while cruising around without helmets. yea -- they're really planning for the "future".

I would really love to have a reality show. I don't know if I could stay sane and keep my loved ones, well, loved. But I'm struggling not because I don't have a good job but because of my main relationship. We are 13 years apart, have been with each other every day since the commencement of our relationship and now he wants "space." Though we are not technically broken up, he doesn't come home 4 nights out of the week. I feel like my world has just been shaken upside down, and now I am trying to pick up the peices so that I don't lose everything. I admire Kate that she won't lie down and die. I want to lie down and sleep, but I get up and go through the motions, and I find distractions along the way throughout the day to find my center. And I have to say my center is all over the place. TLC, come find me. Single, in love, heart broken, career woman, struggling in a battle of wits with her loved one, and he's winning, unless I can become a Kate. And not lay down and die. Odds are 50/50 right now.

I think this woman needs to get her priorities straight. Her family is in crisis, she needs to step out of the limelight and not be releasing any more books. I hope no one buys the cookbook. That's the only way she'll go away, is if no one buys her product or watches her show. Can you imagine having your child call you by the babysitter's name??
Actually yes. I am a nanny and the three boys I keep ACCIDENTALY call me mom. And then they ACCIDENTALY call their mother my name. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have gotten names confused. I usually go through a list before I hit the right one. Kids are the same way. If they do have a sitter, they are probably saying her name quite a bit... so yes they would get confused and say her name on accident. I really feel like everyone is freaking out about this situation because she is in the limelight. None of you can tell me that if this were you and you were offered that kind of money for filming your family during the day you would not do it. Imagine the opprotunities you are offered for doing a show like that. You see them first hand if you watch the show. Yes, they may be "mooching" but I cannot say that I would not do the same thing. There are so many children out there that do not get to experience anything in life. These children are lucky. And what parents DONT have issues? Really? And raising eight kids cannot be easy. I would love a personal chef and I don't have any kids. Seriously people, if you don't like her or the show then fine. But please get over it. Do you really not have anything better to do. I really think people that are dwelling on it and talking about what a horrible parent she is are lame and miserable with their own lives. ANd you're just as bad as she is... you're nagging and comparing right along with her :) So really, just hush

What makes her qualified to "write" a cookbook? Has she had any culinary education? Has she substituted restaurant/catering experience for culinary education? No, she is just a woman who overstimulated her ovaries and gave birth to a litter of children and makes the occasional ordinary meal. I have never seen her cook anything on her show that is the least bit impressive or original. Almost every meal they show her children eating consists of a bunch of uncooked foods on a paper plate such as yogurt cups, hummus cups, baby carrots, apple slices, pb&j, grapes, crackers etc. One episode she made her "old grandma soup" which anyone with half a brain could replicate. One episode she made pancakes from a mix into heart shapes, she has made a fruit salad, she bakes cookies and zucchini bread, and makes her famous monkey munch recipe that came from the chex box. Not sure that any of those culinary masterpieces make her qualified to author a cookbook. She has also stated multiple times on the show that she is not crafty and that she is not creative so I cannot imagine that her tips on creating family traditions and making ordinary days special will be very innovative. In fact, I would be absolutely shocked and amazed if her cookbook has one original idea, tip, or recipe.
I loved that on the season opener when Hannah ( I think) asked one of the boy tups if they wanted a WHOLE apple. Usually they get two slices. So cute.
Haha... really. You can go online and make your own cookbook. You don't have to be a chef to write one... but SO WHAT?!?!?!? Churches put out cookbooks all of the time for people to buy. The reason they do it is so they can spread a tradition and a piece of their family. I have cookbooks that teach you how to make hot chocolate, brownies, sweet tea. It doesn't MATTER if they have a culinary degree. It's a part of their life. GAH!!! You people are so damn bitchy.
