Girls Just Want To Have Fun Remake - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

NO! Not this movie! Please - not this one. Let it be. Let it's awesome wonderment just be! I LOVE this movie - I've watched it a MILLION times - and now it will be remade and someone from 'High School Musical' or 'Gossip Girl' or '90210' will take on Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker's infamous roles and just... not do them justice. PLEASE! Tell me it isn't so!

Girls Just Want to Have Fun... is being remade.

Twentieth Century Fox and Lakeshore Entertainment are mounting a remake of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," the 1985 teen comedy that starred Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The studio has set Michelle Morgan to write a new version of the film, which centered on two girls who share a passion for dancing and the hit show "Dance TV."
Morgan just scripted "Is He the One," a Todd Garner-produced romantic comedy for Fox, and "Imogene" for Anonymous Content.

The ball is rolling - I am helpless and unable to stop the madness.

I agree Vera, I watched this movie a Million times too and cannot bear to think of some fly by night "it" girl celebrity filling in one of these roles.....

Please, someone at a movie company - get a NEW idea for a movie. Just a thought?

No !!!! I can not tell you how many times I watched this movie growing up ! It just wouldn't be the same...... I really wish the movie companies could come up with their own ideas instead of ripping off ones that worked before.
Is it just me or is that picture totally Photoshopped ? Helen's head looks ok but the other two look funny.

they're being cheap - that's why the keep doing remakes....I watched it a million times back then too but I don't remember Helen Hunt being in it.

They seriously need to hire new people in the "movie ideas" department. What is with all the remakes? LOVE this movie - leave it alone. Strange that they are also remaking Footloose (WHY??) which also had SJP in the cast.

movie studios are just looking for a quick dollar .. that's where all the remakes are coming from.. all about money..they should just let classics remain classics

Oh no...that is not good news. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" is and always will be one of my favorite movies. Campy? Yes. Dated? Yes. But oh so much fun! I am really disappointed that the studios can't just leave well enough alone when it comes to our generation's classics.

Hollywood is DONE. Of course they have to do remakes NO ONE CAN ACT. Hello. All these 'actors' we gossip about SUCK as actors. They can't write original scripts and expect people like Jessica Alba and Megan Fox to be able to convey the story. All Hollywood cares about is LOOKS and the LAST thing ANY actor should be judged by is his/her looks. You have to have people of ALL LOOKS and sizes if any movie wants to be portrayed as something solid. Remember all the old movies with John Candy? The John Huges Films? Etc. Well watch them and you will see that MOST of the characters WERE NOT GOOD LOOKING. And the movies were damn good. When Hollywood goes back to talent I will go back to being interested. It makes me sick to see them destroy EVER movie from my childhood. Yuck.

Awwwww, I love this movie I've seen it a million times too back in the day. Why can't they just leave these classic movies alone the original will always be better.

Apparently they want Miley Cyrus in the lead role!!! SHE CANT DANCE!!
In this movie DTV (dance TV) is supposed to be where the best of the best dance... how is a complete non dancer going to be able to pull that off?? With shows like "so you think you can dance" on air today... THAT'S the standard! They're going to need a hell of a convincing body double!
Why dont they just re release the old one? It'd get bums on seats and they'd save a ton of money on making the heap of crap they are about to make.

Miley Cyrus is in this movie and she will ruin it!
