Nicole Richie Says She Is In No Rush To Marry Joel Madden

Nicole Richie has no plans to marry Joel Madden at the moment.
The 'Simple Life' star – who has a 15-month-old daughter Harlow with the
Good Charlotte rocker and another baby on the way – is focusing on her
growing family, but hopes to wed "one day".
Speaking on 'Larry King Live' last night, the
27-year-old socialite said:
"When I was a little girl I dreamed about
getting married and that is definitely still a dream of mine one day.
"But right now, we're really, really focused on our family, we're focused on
our foundation and as far as feeling that need of commitment, we both really
have that in each other."
The couple – who have been dating since 2006 – are eagerly awaiting the
birth of their second child, but don’t want to find out the sex of the baby.
"We want the surprise. What is there really to plan? I'll get
the clothes after."
Well, that's one way to look at it! I absolutely needed to know with both of my kids.
Nicole's father Lionel Richie was also on the show and admitted he is hoping for a boy.
"Joel and I are having powwows. I
want a grandson."
Nicole added:
"You should here them prepping each other, wishing for a boy".
LOL! As if anything you can do matters at this point!!
It was Nicole and Lionel's first joint interview in six years. They also
spoke about Nicole's stint in rehab for drug abuse in 2003.
"When she checked into rehab, her mother and I checked into
rehab with her. Me and her mother Brenda spent a week in there with her.
Tough love is very hard when you're in love."
I can't imagine what it must feel like to watch your child go through rehab.

I love that Nicole wears her own jewelry line. That's a girl who has faith !

Lionel seems like such a good father, I mean in every interview he just comes across as caring, concerned and centered. I am glad he got to see his baby out of her darkest days, those are the days no parent ever dreams of. I am glad to see them together again and I am glad to see Nicole healthy.

i just love where she is now after everything that happened with her before. she could have ended up completely different and messed up her life like every other celebrity her age, but she got through it and now she's so healthy. you can tell she learned from her mistakes and that now her life completely centers around her family.

While I was watching this last night, I was thinking back to when Paris Hilton was on after being released from jail. Talk about a night and day difference between the two. Nicole actually sounded like an intelligent and well spoken adult who uses her brain and has her life together. Paris on the other hand came across like she hasn't used her brain in a decade. It's no wonder Nicole has left Paris in her dust.
interesting that both parents checked into rehab with her. thats really wonderful.
Lindsay could use that. Maybe thats why Rehab worked for Nicole.
She just gets better with age
Parents don't check in. See comment below. The re-hab facilities offer the one week service if loved ones so choose to further educate them.
Vera, you don't WATCH your child go through re-hab. You simply pray they get their life back. Addiction is an illness and yes it can happen to someone you love. Our child went through re-hab and it was a blessing. She is six years clean, back in college and is healthy and happy. As it turns out she's even studying to be a substance abuse counselor. So, some things are blessings in disguise. The one week is a preferred requirement for parents and/or loved ones to observe how the program works and to help them understand how their loved one got there in the first place. Our one week session was so phenomenol I came away thinking every human on the face of the earth would benefit from that experience.
I agree. I also think if everyone went to A.A. the world would be a better place!
