Natasha Henstridge has a warning to women who resort to some diets and pills to stay slim: there are physical consequences. She says the extreme pressure to stay thin in Hollywood led her to try a variety of things to keep her weight down.
‘I’ve done some things that probably weren’t the smartest things in the
world,’ reveals Henstridge, now 34, of taking ‘pills’ and over the
counter supplements to give her an ‘extra boost’ to be thinner. ‘I’ve
even been to Chinese herbalists who’ve given me herbs and acupuncture,’
she says, thinking that they were ‘innocent and healthy.’‘All of a sudden when you decide to go clean, things are changing in your body because you [sic] done a bit of damage,’ she says."
I’ve heard people have to be careful with things like herbs, but this is a good reminder!
Have any of you resorted to things to give you a "boost" to loose weight or keep it off?Have you suffered any adverse effects?

Forget her body…WTH happened to her face? She must have had plastic surgery along the way. That’s messed up..
Not all herbal supplements will mess you up, as long as you go into them slowly, not abuse them, and adjust up to what you can handle.
I tried those ephedrine diet pills, but I did it intelligently, and saw great results. However, I never followed the directions. I took half the dosage, and then an hour or 2 later took the other half, and I never took it everyday, 4 times aweek, the max, for 3 weeks, and then 1 week off, and if it said to take it 2 times a day, I only took it once, 3 times day, I took one full dosage, 1 capsule, or opened the capsule and took out half and 1 hour later take another one, or half, then half a dose later in the day. I also always drank at least a gallon of water a day.
I miss those pills, I always had such great results with them. I worked out before I tried them, and saw no results, when I tried them, I had results in 3 days. They have been off the market (the really good ones) and I ballooned back up again, even though I still work out, like before i was on them.
When you’re not expecting to grow old………….PLEASE STAY THIN!!
I went to buy some diet pills once and the pharmacist scared me from purchasing them. As for herbs and natural supplements I did not know they would be bad for you – tho I dont take anything. Started going to Curves 3 days a week and within a very short time I could begin to see the difference in my body. Its true tho people dont want to hear it – eating in moderation and exercising is the trick to losing or maintaining your body – people only want the magic pill cure without putting in the work.
the problem is that some of us are really lazy
we should do what you are doing now… !
of cause you going to damage yourself, it has to be natural way like looking what you eat, how much you eat and exercising
Soap enema at home. Don’t do it!!!!!!
I tried diet green tea from a health store – I had major runs – DON’T DO IT!!
Yeah, you’ll be pullin down the shower curtain, you’ll be so messed up. That stuff ain’t good for yah.
I took some diet pills when ephedrine was on the market still and let me tell you they fucked up my heart and my metabolism. The only way I recovered was by working out. Hard. You have to reprogram your body when you are ready to lead the ONLY lifestyle that lets you look and feel great. Eating well and exercise. Sorry ladies there is NO short cut and the longer you wait the harder it is. Being fat is contagious, surround yourself with fat people and soon you will become one.
I also tried some diet pills (I think they had the ephedrine in them too). They were my roommate’s, and I tried them for a week. I noticed no difference, when I quit however, I felt SO CRAPPY for twice as long as I had taken them! I was depressed and had such low energy. It was WITHDRAWAL, from only one week of use! HORRIBLE STUFF. Luckily I suffered no long-term consequences. One of my best friends blames diet pills for her weight gain though. She was about 125-130 at first, dropped down to 110 on the pills, and went up to 150 after she stopped. That was 4 years ago, and she exercises all the time and can’t get back down.
I know all to well about this. Thanks to Metabolife (when it was sold with ephedra in it) i now have an irregular heartbeat. Now i find that loosing weight is twice as hard because those pills really did something to my body. Worst mistake of my life. As the nutritionists and doctors say all the time only eating healthy and exercise work. All these pills saying they “help” in loosing weight are just a bunch of crock that messes with you body, Stay Away From Them!!
how long did you take them ? i used those pills around 6 years ago for about a year , drop a lot of weight ,didn’t took them back:) but now my heart beats faster at times ..it’s weird, i feel fine and the next minute it starts beating like crazy for a few seconds
Her face is plastic, ugh. She was a beautiful Canadian girl! Now Natasha write about the dangers of going under the knife.
Maybe if she did real movies and not ones that call for her to be covered in slime and run around naked, she would not have to worry about her body as much.
i am always surprised when people don’t know that herbs and most of the “natural” preparations can be quite damaging for you. they are not innocent.
look, most herbs need to have an amount of “toxic” for they can survive in the nature. that toxic goes directly to your system b/c the “natural med.” are often not processed.
she is probably not only talking about heartbeats but some VERY weird digest malfunctions…
To Sweet Kiddo,
My mother had the same problem. Her heart would race (sometimes for hours on end) for no reason. She felt tired, as though she had run a marathon. After years of doctors simply chalking in up to “stress” she was diagnosed with heart arithmia (irregular heartbeat).
I would go to the doctor and have him/her test for this. It can be fatal if not treated.
To everyone,
Please, do not take any type of pill for weight loss! They are ALL DANGEROUS!!!
My mother is over weight for her body type/height but since she started being more physically active (walking) and eating healthy (cut out sugar and has limited her white bread/pasta) she has gradually been losing weight. She feels MUCH better and is healthier.
I have been depressed and gained over 20 lbs in the last 2 years! I have now decided to follow my mom’s example and eat healthier and exercise!
All the best to all of you! Stay safe and get healthy!!
