I am not sure how this will translate onto the big screen, but the ‘Where’s Waldo?‘ series has sold over 50 million books worldwide since its conception in 1987. The popular character will now be a movie star as the cartoon is being turned into a live-action family picture.
U and Chris Meledandri’s family film unit have acquired screen rights to turn the "Where’s Waldo?" book series into a live-action family pic. Deal was worth high-six against seven figures. Meledandri will produce.

That’s a no-brainer. The movie will feature a character by the name of Waldo along with adventures in his life.
the concept of the book series where’s waldo is not about the adventures of waldo…it’s about finding him in a crowd. that is why it seems odd to turn it into a movie.

The movie will probably be Will Farrell dressed in stripes.
But isn’t it actually “Where’s Wally”? They just changed the name for the american version for some reason.
