Fact Or Fiction: Melissa Joan Hart Jokes About Farrah Fawcett's Death

Fact Or Fiction: Melissa Joan Hart Jokes About Farrah Fawcett's Death

I am HOPING this one is completely false. The NY Post has a source claiming that Melissa Joan Hart joked a bit about keeping her People Magazine bikini cover on the stands a week prior to its release. The actress was "overheard" telling friends she hoped Farrah Fawcett wouldn't die and steal her cover.

The former "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star was overheard off-cam era at KTLA in Los Angeles on Friday saying how she'd been hoping last week that cancer- stricken Farrah Fawcett wouldn't die -- and thus bump Hart off the cover of People magazine. Hart is on this week's cover posing in a bikini after recently losing 42 pounds. Hart appeared on KTLA to promote her new ice cream and candy store.

What do you think? Could this be true? Or is someone just spreading nasty rumors?

COMPLETE AND TOTAL FICTION!!! I do NOT believe this for one single second. MJH is such a total sweetheart she would never joke about someone passing. Whoever spread this rumor is just trying to start trouble.

She probably said it, but it was probably a private comment. WE ALL say stupid stuff and half the time it is not meant as hurtful but clearly just something said. I really do not think she meant it as hateful like she wants Farrah to die or something. I think she probably just said, "hey, I really want to be on the cover of People and it would suck if someone else took my spot". This business is so ADHD that it is hard to stay relevant in the fame whore world. She doesn't get half the attention she should get compared to Speidi and other stupid reality crazies. Give her a break.

I agree with you. I believe she said it, but not in a hateful way or anything.

Anonymous123 Anonymous123 said:

100% true! But I'm sure she said it in a joking matters.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

"joking manner" not "joking matters". Geez!!

Get a life, playing the teacher will not get you nowhere. Chill man. Shi...t.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

An education might get you somewhere. "will not get you nowhere"...yikes.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Even if she did say it, I'm sure she was joking.. don't we all stay stupid stuff like that sometimes?

Anonymous Anonymous said:

no

No some of us do not joke about the death of someone with terminal cancer. To some of us there is NOTHING funny about that.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Maybe when you watch someone you love get cancer you will all understand how much of a joking matter it is NOT. Completely classless and inexcusable, no one cares about this chick anyway.

I am 5'3" and 108 lbs, and I can tell you there is no way this woman is only 5 lbs heavier than I am. She is 113 lbs in her dreams! She looks lovely and there is nothing wrong with being 125 lbs or whatever it is she really weighs. Just be honest about it!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

WOw, how self-absorbed can you be. We're talking about the insensitivity of her "joke" and you're talking about being 5 f@cking lbs lighter than her. You seriously are full of yourself.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

I forgot to add....Farrah rocked a bathing suit better than this MJH could ever dream of doing.

Anonymousxxx Anonymousxxx said:

They say to be a celeb you have to pretty much be self-absorbed so I can see her saying it. She wanted her time on the cover. However, that's so freaking wrong to ever joke about death, especially a terminal illness.

My husband works for KTLA....she did say it...joking, of course, because she wants and needs the publicity...but it really shocked people who heard it. The story was all over the station in 5 minutes...which is how it made it online! When will these celebs learn to watch their mouths? If they're in public, there is no "safe" time...someone is always listening or has a camera pointed their way.

I wouldn't doubt she said that. But I am sure it wasn't meant for the whole world to hear about. Sad.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

I think MJH said it. And I think she was serious.

woah....some people are super sensitive when it comes to death....there are people with terminal illness and dying make jokes about themselves all the time....my father in law was one of them....his dying wish was 'when you have a funeral for me - I want everybody to wear colorful clothes (no black) and have a party - no crying allowed'.....and that's exactly what we did - except I cried (I couldn't help it) but everybody complimented how well the funeral turned out.

I don't think she'd say something like that, but then again, I don't know her personally! I'd sure hope not, though!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

It's confirmed. She said it. She half-apologized.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Amazing...hoping someone doesn't die just so she'll be on the cover! Don't these celebrities have a brain or a soul? I guess not.

Get a grip ppl. Everybody dies. While it's sad it's inevitable. When you're not directly connected to the person you may not be as sensitive to the situation. Yes, cancer is terrible but do we all have to walk around in black veils because Farrah has it? It was a joke. She didn't say it on Letterman. MJH is a person who was talking to other ppl around her. Don't stars have SOME right to privacy? For f*cks sake folks. Some people (even people that actually HAVE terminal illnesses) use joking as a coping mechanism. Get over yourselves. Nobody needs your self righteous indignation. It will NOT cure her cancer. I don't know why i keep reading the comments of you IDIOTIC, SELF ABSORBED, JUDGMENTAL, POMPOUS, ARROGANT B*TCHE$. Here's a joke for you....i hope you fall off your high horses and break your necks like Christopher Reeve. There....

Anonymous Anonymous said:

You keep reading our comments because you too are an "IDIOTIC, SELF ABSORBED, JUDGMENTAL, POMPOUS, ARROGANT B*TCH" ...and juding from your "joke", you also lack any sense of humor.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Yea...what a loser.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Holy crap I've stumbled into a high school hallway! Bunch of catty heifers. FYI, I don't think it was supposed to actually be funny. Duh. I think that kind of means that YOU don't have a sense of humor. What creativity. You and the one above. What do you need? Knock knock jokes? You guys all get worked up as if anyone cares. I thought these blog type forums were supposed to be for lighthearted ribbing and commenting about shoes and purses and such. Gosh. I might as well go back to fox news for this type of candor. Have some ice-cream and shut up for goodness sake.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

*Fanatic applause* thank you! This is supposed to be FUN! And I think i'm going to just go with eff'd up up there and skip the comments from now on and just look at the pretty pictures. I don't think I really need other people's opinions anyway.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Lighthearted is calling people idiotic, self-absorbed, judgemental, pompous, arrogant bitches. Yea, that's a real joke.

HuckleBuckJr HuckleBuckJr said:

The comment, if made, is certainly not in good taste, but what is actually funny is that she lost the weight, and is promoting candy and ice cream! I'll bet she didn't get that body back eating those...
