Forbes Magazine has come out with their annual 'Celebrity 100 Power List' and guess who came out on top. Angelina Jolie.
The 34-year-old actress topped the annual poll by Forbes magazine, knocking US talk show host Oprah Winfrey – who has held the top spot for the past two years – into second place.
Explaining that the magazine took into account earnings as well as fame, Forbes senior editor Matthew Miller said:
“In addition to nearly doubling her earnings in the past year, from $15 million to $27 million, Angelina Jolie is the most famous star on the planet.
“She is in the dialogue of popular culture nearly every day - for her acting, for her relationship with Brad Pitt, for her children and for her philanthropic endeavours. All of this exposure leads to an extremely powerful celebrity brand - one that allows her to command a higher salary when starring in movies, can bring more people to the theatre and one that she can monetise further if she chose to do so.”

Madonna jumped from 21st position last year to third, after making $110 million thanks to her world tour.
Her split from husband Guy Ritchie and rumoured romances with baseball star Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez and model Jesus Luz also ensured she was never far from the public eye.
Beyonce Knowles, who married her long-term beau, rapper Jay-Z, last year, came fourth after making $87 million.
Golfer Tiger Woods was deemed the most powerful athlete in the world, after his $110 million earnings secured him the final place in the top five.
Jennifer Aniston – who endured a high-profile split from John Mayer earlier this year - polled eighth after making $25 million, beating her ex-husband Brad who finished ninth with $28 million.
Barack Obama is the first US President to ever appear on the list, coming in at number 49.
Other notable inclusions include 16-year-old ‘Hannah Montana’ actress Miley Cyrus at number 29, rapper 50 Cent at number 50 and Drew Barrymore who took the 87th spot.

None of them is powerful to me. Maybe they are rich but most of them are bunch of people who cannot even pull things together in their own private lives (failed relationships, rehab for some, nasty divorce for others, cheating scandals, lawsuits,...)

I don't dislike her as a person, just dislike the fact that she has more money than me. Money does make life easier; it gives you the freedom to do as you please. I think they should be more specific as to what age group considers her the most powerful. Did Forbes just pick whoever would bring more publicity or did they ask people of all ages what their opinion was? She is beautiful and there is not doubt about that but she is not the only one. I'm really not trying to rag on her but most of her movies were big flops before Mr. and Mrs. Smith, except for animated movies and her two Lara Croft movies which had a built in audience. I used to like her so much because she was more mysterious. She did her charity thing without all of the press and didn't look like she thought everyone was below her. Boom, here comes Brad Pitt and she is the highest paid, most powerful, most charitable celebrity "on the planet" and she has this constant look which screams, "I'm so over these losers".
My question is how did Jennifer Aniston make the list. I just don't see her as a person of influence. I mean what is she passionate about other then her dog, hair, exercise and smart water. I don't know anything about her, and I don't know what moves her or what drives her in any way. I wonder if her fans do.. Love Angelina and Brad. Not trying to knock Jennifer really, but I just realized that I know nothing about this woman. And I have to admit I would like to know what if anything generates passion in her.
