Eminem Opens Up About MTV Movie Award Stunt With Bruno
By now EVERYONE has seen the infamous clip of Bruno the angel landing on Eminem during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. For days the media has been buzzing - "Was it staged or not?!"
Reports began to trickle in that Eminem WAS part of the plan from the very beginning considering he was wearing a microphone, but the way he walked out the event was too real to ignore.
Today, the rapper admits that it was all a big joke and that he is “thrilled” with the reaction to his and Sacha Baron Cohen’s butt-thrusting stunt.
"I'm thrilled that we pulled this off, even better than we rehearsed. It had so many people going 'nuts' so to speak. Everyone was blowing up about it.
"After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours. Especially after I saw it air."
Eminem says Sacha asked him to participate in the stunt a few weeks ago and he had no hesitations about saying yes.
"Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag."
So there you have it! Smart guy to not announce it immediately after the show. That stunt was all anyone talked about for the first half of the week!
In this case, Eminem's a better actor than I expected him to be.
Thats Eminems only difense after pussying out and letting Bruno T-BAG him. I guess from the humiliation thats the only thing he can say, lmfao!
If you've ever heard Eminem in an interview, you'd know he would never use the word "thrilled" or the term "the gag." This is obviously bullshit. Plus, he wasn't asked WEEKS ago to participate in the stunt, the MTV producers have already made it known that they asked Paris Hilton first but she declined.
Can we say "bullshit"?
I am actually thoroughly impressed with Eminem. Never really paid the guy any attention before but he was so convincing about the whole incident.
I guess he can act!
Of course it was fake. Do we expect to see Eminem and his burly hommies to stick around and see Twilight sweep the honors?The camera focused on Eminem even before Bruno landed and he was expecting the Bruno fall.
I knew the Eminem/Sascha bit was staged simply for the fact that Sascha was still Alive the next day. It was an awesome idea!
