Fact Or Fiction: Britney Spears Grew Up In A Violent Household
I hate when long lost relatives pop up out of the nowhere to give details about a celeb's horrid past. Britney Spears' uncle is the latest to try an attempt at a few minutes of fame. Did Britney grow up in a violent household? That's what Willie Spears is claiming (Jamie's brother).
Good ol' Willie says he witnessed the singer's father regularly flying into drunken rages at their family home when she was a small child. These memories are now part of Steve Dennis’ new book ‘Britney: Inside the Dream’.
“I was at the house and Jamie walked in drunk and called Lynne a bad name. She was in the kitchen drinking water and he grabbed the glass, walked into the lounge and just hurled it. It was rough, but the sad thing is that it became normal life.”
Lynne filed for divorce from Jamie in 1980, the year before Britney was conceived after he allegedly cheated on her. Lynne sought a restraining order after fearing the start of divorce proceedings would spark his temper.
However, the pair did not legally separate until 2000.
Willie says the erratic behavior of his brother - who sought treatment for his problems with alcohol in 2004 - became a “normal” part of his niece’s childhood.
“One time Jamie was drunk and tried to drive off with Britney in the car. She was no more than five years old. I tried to stop him, so I reached into the truck to grab the keys from the ignition and he punched me. We got right into it there by the car, fighting in front of her.
“Britney was jumping up and down, crying. Lynne had to run out to get her inside. We Spears men are known for fighting. If Britney happened to be there, so be it.”

iAs a youngster, the pop star also reportedly dealt with the violence by blocking out the incidents.
“At first Britney was a scared child and you’d catch her crying but she reached the stage when she just walked off, as if it wasn’t happening. And as she got older, she would scream and curse at her parents to get them to stop fighting.”

HEY VERA IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH THEN DON'T POST ABOUT IT. DUH. If you want to 'protect and defend' her then choose what you print more wisely. You contradict yourself all the time. Your either a gossip blogger or your not, don't say you hate something then go and print it. That makes NO SENSE.
Do you know anything about addiction? At all? Do you know anything about child abuse and domestic violence? At all? Cuz it seems as if you don't. It seems as if you live in LA LA LAND. Anyone with half a brain cell can see that Brit is an ADDICT which is something that is passed along in your DNA. OBVIOUSLY she had a messed up childhood which lead to her being a messed up adult. It doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure this out. I know you want to think that everything is all peachy in the life of Britney but its not, she will never be a 'normal' adult, she has severe mental problems that obviously stem from her gene pool and her childhood. You need to get out more and see the effects that things have on people, live a little and really understand addiction and abuse. Then once you understand the severity of those issues maybe then you can comment on shit like this. I am SO sick of people saying shit like 'Britney is all better' blah blah blah. Yeah she appears all better cuz daddy is babysitting her and she is pumped full of pills. Wake up Vera and face the music, she is a messed up girl and I guess fortunately for you these were issues you never had to deal with. You and the rest of her fans bought into this smoke and mirrors 10 years ago and now that it is no more you are left with the truth. Now its time to BELIEVE IT. I grew up with an alcoholic mom and lots of physical and mental abuse in my house, I can spot this shit from a mile away. So before you try to call people out and say they are lying how about you do a little research yourself?!?

She doesn't really care about your little diatribe. You're not going to reach anyone on the message boards of a gossip website. I applaud your spelling and grammar, however, so kudos to you for that. It's much better than most people's on here.
And I agree that Britney is messed up, but none of us have any sort of inside information on why she seems to be better. It may be pills, it may be her kids, it may be a front. Who knows? Not me, and certainly not you.
Vera, however, wants hits on her website. Posting about Britney is a good way to do that. Can't blame her there. Posting her opinion is just fine and dandy, as it is for you. Just don't think it will easily change anyone's opinions.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Jamie Spears is known to be very violent, after all this is they man who held a reporter hostage at knifepoint!
I still find it shocking that the judge put him in charge of Britney's life - what a crazy world we live in!
I have been a quiet reader of this website for a few years. I always liked Vera's selection and wording on things. The last few times I have read this site does not sound like Vera. Vera is that really you?
