Cameron Diaz is smart enough to realize that it's one thing to play a mom, it's another thing entirely to be a full-time mom.

Working on set with young girls, she got the best of both worlds.

“It’s
one thing to birth a child, raise a child, be with it everyday.  But
it’s another thing to know two grown girls who have their own mother
and its a completely different thing.  The wonderful thing about acting
is we pretend. So I didn't feel like I was their parent, except for
when I got to boss them around in the movie, and that was a lot of fun.”

Speaking about being on set with little girls for 'My Sister's Keeper' Cameron enjoyed mothering so much she even started cooking for her younger co-stars!

Regarding cooking for co-stars Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva on the set of “My Sister’s Keeper,” Diaz says:  “Whatever
the kids wanted -- they all got to pick their own.  They each got pick
what they wanted to eat each day and then I would cook it for them.”

Breslin
says:  “Cameron is really cool, I had a great time making the movie
with her and everybody and she makes food in her trailer… fajitas and
cheese fries.”

Vassilieva says:  “Holy moly guacamole, I swear by it now!”

How awesome that she was able to have that experience! I wonder if we'll eventually see her settling down to have babies of her own or if Cameron is one of those women who prefers to just borrow other people's kids when the maternal urge kicks in. :) Totally understandable!
