Introducing The St. John’s Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center

Introducing The St. John’s Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center
(there aren't many photos of Brad and Doug Pitt together on the web - so pls forgive the poor quality)

The Pitt family has done a wonderful thing - they've collectively donated $1 million to St. Jude's Hospital. The Brad Pitt family, Doug and Lisa Pitt and Rob and Julie Neal joined forces and are responsible for the opening of The St. John’s Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center. Jane sound familiar? It's their mother's name. Talk about a present that keeps giving.

When the St. John’s Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center opens this summer, it will temporarily be located fifth floor of the hospital’s west pavilion.
There are future plans to add a new 31 pediatric unit, a 10-bedroom hospital-based Ronald McDonald House; and double the size the neonatal intensive and pediatric intensive care units.
St John’s Auxiliary has pledged $1 million to help fund this expansion and other projects.

I think it's great that Brad got together with his family to do a joint donation - shows that they still have a great relationship and that each of the members have a charitable heart.

Confusing post to me. Is it St. Jude's or St. John's? Or is St. John's part of St. Jude's? Anyway, what a truly wonderful thing this family has done.

LOL. :) Which one?

Their mom is still alive, right? Did she have cancer? Why is it named after her? Weird.

I thought the same thing too when I read this. Why are they naming the wing after Jane Pitt? I guess the Pitt family want to honor their mother; but the money could have been donated without adding her name to the wing of the hospital Some people like to boast about the good deeds they do.

Is there really a need to rag on these people for their good deed? They want to honor their mother -- end of story.

Give the negativity a rest!!! Which came first, the chicken or the egg??? Once Brad Pitt was in Thelma & Louise, HE didn't have to draw attention to himself, the MEDIA wouldn't leave him alone.

Looking at these two is like night and day. I always wonder , how weird is it for close immediate family to have an A-list star in their sight , any time they wanted.

I don't think is weird for the family, you have to remember Brad is their brother/son first before he became "Brad Pitt" the movie star. They see him as their family member; not the way the general public sees him as a "celebrity". I think you're in awe by Brad Pitt as a celebrity and wonder what it would be like to be related to him. Picture your brother or sister as a celebrity, now think about it; you would still think of your celebrity siblings the same. Trust me, the mystery, awe, attraction and adoration we feel for celebrities is not the same as if they were related to you. I'm sure Brad's family is proud of his accomplishments.

I can tell they are related by the smile and dimples they both share, but Brad is better looking than his brother. Is like they both share different parents; not saying his brother is not good looking, he is. Is just that Brad is a better looking version.

i think that brad is a version of his brother which could enjoy hollywood spa pampering over the last decades ;)
they have like nearly the same hights, eyes, hairlines, smile as you mentioned but a "good life" can make s.o. looks much better imo.

Really? I was going to say that Doug is the better looking one ( maybe just because i prefer brunette over blonde)...well, you can't fight over taste^^

And when i first just saw the pic, without reading anything, i thought it showed Brad Pitt - with Zach Braff.

I am sooooooo not impressed! Brad just spent $1 million on a PAINTING. So he just equated a painting as being of similar value as sick children. If you can spend a $1 million on a painting, you should be shelling out alot more than that to help sick children. That was chump change and nothing more than another lame PR stunt to distract from his ridiculous spending on art. Look what a great (attention monger) guy I am. 'The kids can have some money as long as I get my painting tooo.'

...and what have you donated lately? It's his damn money. He can do whatever he wants with it.

I work with the needy....you?... And don't make millions. The point is he is no great hero the media makes him out to be. Many celebs donate and don't need to do PR about it. They always have to announce it. SICK KIDS = A PAINTING...not a big deal. Strange priorities.

Maybe he should just donate next to nothing like Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

St. John's is affiliated with St. Jude's, and with Anistons involvement with the latter it's an interesting choice for their donation. They just named a gym after the father, now a pediatric cancer ward after the mother. Guess the parents are getting up there and they want to celebrate them while they're here. No mention of Jolie. Hope the $1 million is the first installment. Unfortunately it won't buy much in the current healthcare system, but it's a very worthwhile cause and I appreciate any celebrity that uses their fame and fortune to benefit others.

Brad looks gay in that picture!

i don't think that photo is from the actual dedication. i live in the city where this happened and there was no mention of Brad. It would be odd for local media not to latch onto him.
