Quote Of The Day: Jennifer Love Hewitt

“It’s just gross. It’s really weird — I can eat chicken if I take if off the bone, but I can’t eat a chicken leg and have my teeth touch the bone. It freaks me out. It’s just the chicken skin. You go, ‘Oh gosh, I’m eating a chicken,’ and it’s really disturbing.”

-- Jennifer Love Hewitt talking about eating chicken off the bone

I'm kinda like that. I can't believe I still eat meat - so much of it gives me the creeps.

I am the same way. I can't think about what I am eating because it will gross me out. It tastes so good, but it is gross to think about it.

All that meat you're eating came off the bone at some point. I have a few friends like that, and I give them hell all the time about it.

I have zero problem butchering, preparing and eating most animals. Things like that never bothered me.

Ditto!
And crispy chicken skin is the best... I used to fight over it as a kid with my brother and sisters

I stopped eating chicken & Turkey shortly after I got Parrot birds. Eating poultry reminded me of them way too much. It was like I was eating their family. GROSS! Eating animals makes me nauseous. I haven't done it for 15 years now. I wear leather and I wouldn't turn down a fur coat, but as far as eating them? No thanks.

really?
taking in animal protein is somehow life-sustaining if one consider humanbeings to be a mammal/carnivore (if you don't trust in gaining proteins from vegs and nuts). but wearing fur and leather is not vital anymore in our modern times. imho keeping animal for fur and leather is much more cruel and causes much more suffering to animals.
hm.

If you think about it too much, eating meat WILL gross you out. It did for me a while back (I've gotten over it).

Animals suffer for our pleasure.

I completely understand that. I'm the same way. It freaks me out. And I hate seeing the bones on other people's plates. I have to cover it with napkins. It disturbs me to no end. It's the guilt.

well i try to live by the "if i can kill it i can eat it" rule, and though i've never killed a chicken, i can easily imagine myself doing it (for food merely!!) i try to eat organic and so on, animals that are only brought up in desent conditions, wild life has some yammy meat! i see why it would bother some, but i just loath waisting life in any form that i try to appreciate what i do waste. and i love meat, and it has healthy proteins, but i don't eat red meat anymore for enviromental issues, animal rights aaaaand b/c it iften made me feel a bit tired/heavy, i'm quite petite so red meat is maybe a bit too full a meal for me.

if this creeps you out, go vegetarian. there are plenty of fake-meat products that taste delicious! quorn and morningstar farms for example.

Meat: yum. But JLS sounds stupid. It's still meat with or without the bone...

Totally agree. I used to have my mom peel the chicken off the chicken leg when I was a kid because it made me feel gross. Bones are just icky and I don't enjoy having to eat around them. Boneless wings all the way!

How did a quote like this come up in the first place? Anyway, it's a stupid quote, at least Fox's quotes were more entertaining. Why would you need to think about where your food comes from? Just eat it and live your life, worrying about stupid stuff like this is simply petty and stupid. (sorry for the overuse of the word 'stupid') If you really wanted to think about where your food is coming from, then if you eat vegies think about all the people that whip it out and pee all over the grass, the vegie gardens, and wherever else someone decides to whip it out. Im sure vegetarians don't mind eating cooked urine. Who cares?? JUST EAT IT
