Elle McPherson Helps Launch "Sky Ride' Campaign

Elle Macpherson was spotted looking adorable on a bicycle for a photocall to launch 'Skyride' at Regent's Park. Skyride is a nationwide campaign in England, aimed to get the public to cycle more.

What a great cause! I love that everyone is going green : )

Do you use your bike to get around? Are you thinking about starting this summer? The family is toying with the idea, but I feel like we will buy a few bikes and then never use them!

Everybody isn't going green. Like this supermodel who flew in on a private jet that put out more emissions than my car will in a lifetime, they talk a good game and do nothing of any consequence.

WOW, Ellie, you really are ignorant. You deserve the reputation you have on this site and, I assume, in your life, in general. I feel sorry for you.

I don't get it...I guess I am the kind of person who has to see it to believe it because I don't see any harm yet. The skies are still blue to me. What brought on the "going green" stuff?

I walk 6 miles to and from work every day, and I would give anything to be able to ride a bike. Unfortunately, I live in a huge city with really bad traffic and I would never feel safe riding a bike on the roads (and it's illegal to ride on the side walk). I think cities should be more accommodating if they want people to rely less on their cars. of course, I have no problem with walking either, it's great exercise :)

I have my boyfriend drive me to work in the morning on his way, and then ride my bike home, its about 13 miles. It's actually really relaxing to just ride and listen to music, plus I'm getting a fantastic tan! People DO NOT pay attention to bikers AT ALL, it's really frustrating, I've almost gotten hit I don't know how many times. but it's all worth it with the s**it ton of gas money that we save!

I am ALL about bike commuting now. I hadn't ridden a bike since 1996 but in February, we bought a bakfiets (Dutch cargo bike-- google it) and since that day, we have left the car parked & now travel by bike whenever possible. I work at the school where two of my sons attend so we bike commute daily, & in fact, our family found that we were using the bakfiets so much, we recently purchased another cargo bike- -an xtracycle Radish. Here I am: a mama to three boys (6 & under), overweight & unfit, riding a bike every day. I love it-- and so do my sons, who rush to put on their bike helmets before even getting on their shoes & coats.

hi vera,
you don't need to buy the "good ones" from the beginning. start with second-hand ones which are in good condition and you can always upgrade on those if you decide to stick to bike riding. plus this way you did some recycling, too! ;)
ah, btw: you are going to LOVE those new leaned, toned muscles from going green with a bike!

How about a helmet?! Head injuries are so not hot/haute.

I think biking is great if you live in a bike friendly neighborhood. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't.
