Madonna Takes Mercy James To Her First Kabbalah Meeting

What an enormous change for Mercy. She is only three years old, she has no idea what's going on, and she just came in after a 12 hour flight to her new family...so Madonna decided to help her settle in by...taking her to a Kabbalah meeting?
Mercy wasn’t allowed time to play with toys or settle into her new
life. Instead, within hours of arriving, Madonna whisked the child and
her new siblings Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and David, three, to her
first lesson in the controversial Kabbalah faith.
What do you think? Is Madonna just helping Mercy fit into her new family's life? Or should she have given Mercy some time to adjust before starting with Kabbalah?

No, it's probably best to start the brainwashing immediately......

LOL! XD
nomatter what religion or belief madonna has: 3 hours after arriving?
can't wait for all these kids of her, brangelina's and cruise's to grow up and write some biographies! i'll have a blast being a granny reading all those books!
What brainwashing? Cause a 3-year old is supposed to know what church she should go to? Didn't your parents take you to a church of THEIR choice when you were little or did you know for sure "I'm a catholic".
Who said they were Catholic?
And that "religion" Madonna "believes" in is just a cult... so yes BRAINWASHING

The kid is three years old! Like she's gonna understand anything about Kabbalah.
It must be nice being Madonna; knowing money can buy everything you want!

I thought I read that Madonna hadnt even arrived in London yet? That a nurse & nanny took Mercy to London and she & the other kids are flying in from NYC shortly?
Don't believe everything you read. And plus, it's her kid, she can educate her the way she wants to. My friend took her newborn to church the day after she was born. Nobody is criticizing her for it. So her kid, her business.
I just had to comment that taking a newborn to a public place puts the child at greater risk for sickness.....its always been the traditionally sound way of not changing a baby's enviroment for the first two weeks of life after the hospital of course.....the chinese don't take a baby out even from the hospital for a month!

I agree. Don't believe everything you read! Seriously, this "quote" isn't even cited! It doesn't even have the ever reliable "anonymous source"! I don't believe it :P

the girl was with her siblings, so it's not a big deal, she was with her new family, participating in her family activities.

I'm pretty sure that if this was some significantly less controversial religion, a less controversial person and a less controversial adoption it would be no big deal. "Aww, the first thing they did after getting their daughter was take her to church. How sweet!" I mean really now. I'm not a Madonna fan - in fact, I kind of despise her - but this really isn't "out there".
Exactly!
I disagree, although all of those things that you listed are quite controversial, the thing I find most upsetting is that this little girl has just been taken away from everything that she's ever known, there was no time to adjust and to throw an entirely new religion in her face (regardless of what that religion may be) would be so overwhelming for a 3 year old, or anybody for that matter. I think it's really inconsiderate
Maybe she thought that going to Kabbalah would be the most calming thing to do for her new child. I know that she feels that it has balanced her life, so maybe she felt that it would help with the transistion.
And come on, don't tell me that if this was an article about how someone that everyone here loves adopted a child and took them straight to a Christian church to meet their pastor and church family that people would be reacting the same way.
I'm personally not a fan of any religion, but I think that she certainly has the right to introduce hers to her daughter whenever she feels it is appropriate.
I warned her, folks. THERE WILL BE NIGHTMARES TONIGHT!!
This is more proof that Madge is a SELFISH COW, not only is the poor kid in the midst of total culture shock after being ripped out of security of the life she knew, she is jet lagged and in a totally different climate!
I think that this is all so selfserving, if she really cared about the children of Malawi she could have done so much more with what it cost her to BUY this child. Yes I did say Buy, this child was ripped away from her biological grandparentsand a father who only recently found out he had a daughter.
I am appalled that they allowed her to buy this child who's father was trying to get custody of her and willing to parent his child.
It all just so wrong on so many levels and now she is indoctrinating/brainwashing the Christian born child into her fake "religion" and will drag her all around the world leaving her with nannies and assistants. Maybe he bought David and Mercy so she can keep someone around should she want a family photo while their older brother and sister spend time with their fathers. .
she is a freak beyond all freakness. that poor kid. i can't believe anyone let her adopt again
There are plenty of AMERICAN children who need adoption. The ONLY reason this selfish slut adopts internationally is to gain publicity. Madonna is the modern-age JOAN CRAWFORD...obsessed with publicity, career and status. Poor kids will end up writing books as adults similar to MOMMY DEAREST...

I think she is too old to adopt in the US or Europe. That may also be a reason she adopts internationally. Who knows?
Or maybe cause it's so damn hard to adopt in the US especially if you're a celeb. Can you imagine all the lawsuits that would follow? Some family members unheard of will come out of the blue to sue the celeb who adopts, all of the sudden the mother will re-appear, etc... too much trouble.

I don't know anything about that faith, but perhaps it was some sort of blessing ceramony.

She should probably giver her time at her new home, but if it's part of their weekly schedule I think it's okay to keep life as usual.
Give you kid a chance to rest. She's only three! Take her to Kabbalah tomorrow.
How about letting her spend time with her siblings, getting to know her new home, introducing her to her new room, etc? This little girls is just another showpiece for Madonna. Sad.

I completely agree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking your children to church; if you are a strong believer (in whatever brand of faith), it is a very important part of your life, and hence, your children's. What I find distasteful is that she jumped off a plane and ran to the church, rather than letting the little girl (still a baby, nearly!) familiarize herself with her new home and family.
But like someone else said, maybe it was some kind of blessing/dedication ceremony.
Money is very powerful; it gives the person who has money power, but it never buys respect.

I think children should wait until they're old enough to make their own decisions, before introducing a heavy subject such as religion to them.
Don't be so naive. A lot of people bring their newborn to church. A lot of babies are baptized into churches and they don't even know anything about the religion and beliefs. One way or another, parents install THEIR beliefs in their children. I don't see anything wrong with Madonna taking her child to her church. The thing is I don't even believe this story is true because people will always look for something controversial to write. And if it is, a little blessing from you church never hurt anyone. When I was a child, I was taken to a church I don't even believe in and I got baptized there. I can always change my religion when I'm old enough to understand, which I did when I turned 21.

hehe, just b/c "a lot of people" are doing it doesn't make it right or better ;)
I'm wondering if this would be the equivalent of a blessing. I don't agree with the religion but I do know that in mine we bless things first off. So that could be what she's doing.

I'm giving Madonna the benefit of doubt here: just because something gets reported by the Daily Terror doesn't mean it's necessarily true.
Which one of her children will write the tell all book first?
3160 points
i hope ALL of them will write one! but lourdes may be the first one b/c of her age.
or a tell-all about madonna by guy in coop. with jesus and that basketball player. that would be some interesting afternoon on my sofa XD

Talk about dumping your new kid into the deep end. Jesh!losethatgirl blog
Perhaps religious services could've waited a week or two? I think Mercy should settle into her new life a bit - playing with some toys, showing her her new room, etc. There's plenty of time for religion later. JMO.
Starting the brainwashing early.

I think she should have had a little more time to adjust, or perhaps just a nap before class ;)

I also think that Mercy should have had a bit of time to rest and become acquainted with her new surroundings. While children are resilient, I think she needs to become acclimated.

Good for M. I would have done the same even though it would be in a diff kind of church.---em's

I cannot believe they actually let her adopt this girl after all that....
I read somewhere else that Madonna didn't even fly back with the child, but sent a nanny and minder to fly back with her... and then to drag her straight to a khabala centre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God help her.

The sad thing is that she did not ADOPT the child, she basically BOUGHT her. She paid the government millions, supposedly in aid, and POOF Mercy is hers.
