Christian Bale Won't Do Another Batman Movie
Christian Bale doesn't necessarily strike me as the easiest person to work with. :) So I can't say I'm totally surprised by this decision. After finding out that 'Dark Knight' director, Chris Nolan, wouldn't be back on board for another movie in the Batman franchise, Christian says he's out too.
"Chris is in the mindset that he is unlikely to be able to top what was
achieved with Dark Knight," reveals a Hollywood insider. "He has a
number of new projects he's working on and Batman is not a priority for
him right now. Christian is unlikely to want to do another one without
Chris. He feels only he understands the dynamic of the character and so
it could well be that there will have to be a new Batman and director
if there is to be a third movie."
Hmmm...would you want the trilogy to go on without Christian in the role???

It kinda makes sense. Sometimes movies are overdone. I guess he's getting out while the getting is good.
That sucks. I wish he'd finish them up. Changing the lead would ruin the movies.

I don't think I would enjoy it as much if they recast batman. They would have to take it in a whole new direction if they do it, and recast everyone. but, i think my husband will cry is he heard this, he's already pretty upset that the director is no longer in.
I'd hate to see someone else play the lead, but I'd hate to see Bale do it with a director with whom he's not comfortable either. Could ruin the whole dynamic of the movie. I've always thought Bale's been the best Batman.

Oh lame! I love him..but i think his reason behind it makes a lot of sense. He is really passionate about his craft and doesn't only do it for the money!

UGH! Why didn't they sign Bale and Nolan for three movies from the beginning? Say what you want about Christian Bale as a person, in my opinion, he made the best Batman... and nobody can direct those movies better than Christopher Nolan can. If they replace both of them, it's gonna be really lame.

Good. He was pretty awful for the role, I think. ALL he did was put on that FKING STUPID DEEP VOICE whenever he was 'batman' it drove me INSANE. Heath Ledger kicked his ass in that movie.
Yay! now all they have to do is cast Zac Efron as Batman and they'll have the biggest blockbuster ever on their hands.

They should just quit while they are ahead instead of mutilating it with another film. Move on from Batman. Will SOMEONE please create a new comic book character / world that the masses can fall in love with and a story that can support a brand new 6 to 8 feature films?!?!
i don't find this to be a diva attitude...he worked on 2 great films, the director is done, why should he stay and make a lesser batman film? chris nolan is the main reason the movies were so good-i can't imagine any other actor wanting to stick around when they could be doing new projects....
the "source" was probably the lighting guy who worked with him on the last film. making it happen with wishful thinking! lol.

mrr... that stupid deep voice was totally in line with the comic book. i know a ton of people found it annoying, but i thought it was suited for the character. he's not going to whisp around in a normal voice pleading for criminals to behave.
final verdict tho: if there's no Bale, it's not a trilogy, he just did 2 batman flicks and called it a day. they can do more of 'em but can't flog it as an actual trilogy.
I seem to remember Keaton finding a pretty darn convincing balance with the voice. Much better.
its not a trilogy with there are numerous batman movies. most without the same director and star. besides, bale is hardly the best batman. while clooney is certainly the worst.

If you really ARE interested in whether or not there is going to be another Batman anything, then go to batmanonfilm.com for the REAL STORY.
I wish they'd finish the trilogy. A movie with Catwoman would be SO GOOD... But if Nolan's not coming back, then neither should Bale; and vice-versa, really. They make a great, dynamic couple (see "The Prestige", which I think is even better than both Batman films). If they're going to change the whole layout, they should wait a few years, and by then it might be to late. Oh well, all good things come to an end, but boy, what a way to go out with a bang.
Dig up Heath Ledger, he could still out act Bale.
Its bad enuf that Heath Ledger died and we will never experiance acting like that again, but why ya gotta be a doucher and wanna drop out now when u already got Philip Seymor Hoffman (check spelling) playing the penguin! I mean what else could go wrong in this world for this franchise than the Val Kilmer batman or the George Clooney one or letting Ahhhnold join in it and mess it all up so they have to start over!! 100% agree with Ladylala! Bale is a douche (as a person),and his "acting", SUCKS! I couldn't even get through Dark Knight,because he tried to use a tough-guy LOW,GRUFF voice that can only be heard by my dog!!! Seriously, I couldn't even UNDERSTAND HIM-WITH THE SURROUND SOUND CRANKED!!!! I can't believe people are up-set that he might not do ANOTHER Batman! I'm praying that he will just go away! no worries. he'll do it. he's under contract for 3 batman films. it's not up to him. if nolan returns or not, doesn't matter. he is however, worried that nolan won't return and he'll be stuck doing the film with a new director.

Bale should resume as Batman.The plot was left to continue in The Dark Knight and so he should finish it as a Trilogy
