Nick Lachey And Vanessa Minnillo Break Up

Wow! I really thought this one would last.
People.com is reporting that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have broken up with rep confirmation.
"They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly
care for one another," Minnillo's rep tells PEOPLE of the couple, who
began dating in 2006.
Friends are even confirming it was the right decision for the two.
A source says Minnillo, 28, and Lachey, 35, are "still friends. It was the right thing for both of them to do."
Are you surprised by this split? Did you expect them to get married?

Meh. We can't know them, really, but she doesn't seem like the marrying type, and he still does (despite what he's been through).

Lara Jane- I've heard that she was the one that was ready to get married for awhile but he just wasn't ready yet. But who knows what is and isn't true! Haha

I wonder why he won't get all the bad press that Jessica gets when she splits with a man. Comments like he just can't keep a woman, or how about poor pathetic Nick is sad and lonley without a woman. Really sad what we do to women these days with our comments about them. You can bet that nick will not have any comments like Jessica would have if she now broke up with Tony - why do we do this to women?

It was just for purely physical reasons, they both knew it. However, I think Vanessa hoped for something more! Nick SEEMS sweet and nice but he's ruthless underneath. They both are, they're scorpios! Remember, Vanessa was Jessica's friend before. I think Nick still cares deeply about Jess but can't stand her father. I too would love to see Nick and Jess get back together again!

I think she wanted to marry him and he just wasn't ready... it's obviouis, she has been quoted on many occasions saying she wants to marry him and have boys, etc. I really liked them together (Jessica and him seem to be more compatible, but just can't see them getting back together)... this is a little shocking to me because they've made it this far, almost as long as him and Jessica were married!

I agree with you. It seems like she was ready and I'm sure after the split from Jessica he was not ready for any sort of paper commitment.

I have a feeling this is the last "celebrity" Nick will date. He'll marry somebody he went to high school with! Vanessa will move on to the next B-lister.
I kind of knew they would break up when she said her ring would be 10 karats! She wanted to get married and he didn't. They just went to Paris and they just celebrated their 3rd anniversary. They had a big fight at the Jet Blue party where they said she was yelling at Nick . She wanted to stay and party and he didn't. I'm a Nick fan, he seems so down to earth. Now, I'm waiting for his album to come out. It was suppose to come out in May. Maybe, this is why.

Wasn't she just talking about marrying him a few weeks ago?
I love how people still trash talk her, but nobody was present in their relationship. So how can you get mad at her when you don't know what was said and promised to her? She really loved him and he's just trash that can't keep it in his pants. Jessica must not be as dumb as I thought, she saw how nasty he was too.
