Sex And The City Wardrobe Won’t Be Affected By Recession

Hmmm.

I am kind of torn about this. On one hand, the recession is a huge thing that’s affected all of us and the wardrobes of the ‘Sex and the City’ ladies being unchanged isn’t realistic.

Then again…it’s a MOVIE. It’s supposed to be about fantasy, not reality, right?!?

Patricia Field, infamous costume designer of SATC says, recession schmecession, and also denied that she and Sarah Jessica Parker have been feuding.

I don’t use the recession as a reference for my creativity, true,”
Field said, ” I am furious and had a row with Sarah Jessicaover
whatever? False.”

Let’s talk, INO readers. Should the SATC wardrobe reflect the recession or not?

I think the most important lesson to learn here is to know when to put the short shorts away.
Use the total amount in the wardrobe budget on good stuff. It’s the movies!

  2. anniedawg25 says:

ummmm i don’t even understand that quote! Is she speaking English? lol….seriously, who cares about the recession / wardrobe? I wouldnt expect anything less from Sex and the City and can’t WAIT For the new movie!!! ***annie***

  3. starlitbetty says:

I read she quit already because she does not want to style the characters like they are effected by the recession.

  4. Anonymous says:

People still use credit cards in the recession! SATC is entertainment. I like to go to movies to escape and would not like to have the luxury of the clothes be downplayed when that is the best part of the experience!

  5. Lizzypoo says:

It’s a movie! It can reflect real life or not. I don’t care.

  6. switchstance5 says:

I really don’t see why costume directors have to dress so strange after they create beautiful looks for people in the movies. Can’t they put together an outfit for themselves?

I’m not a fan of Sex and The City, I never watched it, and didn’t watch the movie, but I agree with you that say that they dont need to change the clothing for the recession. it just doesn’t make any sense.

  8. ALmostEviL says:

Never watched this garbage, and never will.

  9. merce369 says:

movie isn’t reality , it’s something poeple likt to see to escape the reality, so yeah, no point in reminding everyone: “excuse me peolpe, don’t forget we are in recession”.

  10. Feewer says:

The movie is not about recession, it about sex in the city, Right? If I wanted to see a movie about recession I would, but I’d rather go see a movie about sex. LOL

    oh
We’re so uptight in the United States… if a hot babe decided to take off her top at the beach in the quest to get a tan, she’d probably be hauled away by the police for indecent exposure. Too bad we can’t be more like Europe, where girls can parade on the beach in

Hi I’m fun, easygoing, and responsible 26 year http://www.jolly.net old girl. I’m looking for a companion to travel in South America at the end of 2009. I’d like to start in Argentina (Buenos) through Patagonia to Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil and finish back in Buenos Aires. I’m open to some changes in the itinerary. ;)

  21. So much fun: Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre is a brilliant series of hard-to-define, hand-cut Victorian silhouettes by Wilhelm Staehle. Is it art? Is it comics? Is it both? Who cares; I love it.

    Hi All,
Happy Valentine’s, babe! I wanted this to be a very special date, so I brought my pinkest lingerie and my pinkest vibrating cock toy to dip into my pink pussy! Why don’t you pull up a chair for a toy’s eye view of a couple of intense Elli Orgasms and a ton of sexy fun!?*This

The seats slide back and forth on long tracks, allowing a lot of flexibility. People could swap seats with the pilots without knocking the thrust

Don’t really care, honestly. Then again, I’m a dude.

  28. Wonder_Woman says:

  30. CapturingLife says:

I’m glad. I don’t want to see Carrie & Company wearing cheap outfits. Everyone goes to the movies to ESCAPE the harsh reality of the economy and daily life – I don’t want to be reminded of hard times by watching the girls struggle to afford great clothes. LOL

  31. jetgirl says:

I agree. I know I can’t afford some of the clothing and bags, but it doesn’t mean I don’t want to see it in a movie. That’s part of what made Sex in the City in the first place.

  32. Polly says:

Agreed. I don’t go to the movies to be reminded of daily struggles, I go to escape.

  33. Anonymous says:

I feel the same way, especially with SATC, it’s always been about luxury and falling into another world

  34. lovebug66 says:

    CapturingLife, I completely agree!!

  35. laurnicorn says:

The fashion Carrie wore wasn’t realistically afforable for her anyways.

  37. Anonymous says:

i didn’t read the post and when i first looked at the picture I thought you put up a picture of some random homeless lady in NYC. I can’t believe this woman is the stylist for sex and the city, she looks terrible!!

  38. lovebug66 says:

Hahaha I thought the pic was supposed to look the satc characters when they get old!!

  39. katiekatie says:

agreed! she looks a little better in the other pictures, but i think this might be a case of ‘those who can’t do, teach’.

  40. ladydaytrippin says:

Absolutely not! It’s a movie. I can look at clothes from H&M on my own. I love Patricia Fields sense of style.

  45. Wonder_Woman says:

I swear that bunny looks like its masterbating to online porn lmao

  46. Shellybelle says:

Oh please…… Yeah, some people are hurting, but people are still going to movies, out for dinner, shopping…….I don’t think any of the characters in the movie would be affected by recession anyways.

  47. missmarnip says:

    this.

  48. fashion lover says:

She’s not the real stylist for the amazing wardrobe the women have been credited for. It’s her ex-partner. SHE IS FLIPPING BRILLIANT. THIS WOMAN CREATES THE WORST LOOKS, BAG LADY 101. Do your digging, folks. I met the talent and she is amazing. THIS RED HEADED MOP LOST HER PULL WHEN THEY BROKE UP.

  49. Anonymous says:

Well, since the fashion was the only thing that got me through the first stomach churning piece of garbage, I would hope it’s just as extravagant in this one. But, I still probably won’t even attempt to watch it. Why did they have to ruin a such good series with such god awful movies?

  50. barmir says:

I want fantasy; lots of glamour

  51. dyinggiraffe says:

i really hate satc, and i think they are dressed horribly as it is…..sooooo i don’t really care.
