Cameron Diaz Could Relate To My Sister's Keeper

Cameron Diaz would do anything for her loved ones.
The actress found it easy to empathize with her 'My Sister's Keeper'
character Sara Fitzgerald, whose daughter has terminal cancer, even though
she isn't a mother herself.
She said:
"I think we all related to the fact that there isn't anything that
you wouldn't give someone that you love that deeply. You do whatever it
takes to keep that person alive. I think that that's something that spoke to
most of us, for this film, and what I think is so effective in the film."
Cameron - whose father Emilio Diaz died after developing pneumonia while she
was working on the film - also praised her 13-year-old co-star Abigail
Breslin for her brave performance.
Abigail plays Sara's other daughter Anna, who was a designer baby born to
help keep Kate alive. However, Anna decides she wants the right to make her
own medical decisions.
"What was amazing about working with Abigail was that I
realised you see her and you're like, 'Oh, she's just a little girl,' but
she's got so much power within her. I went up to her mother and said, 'Your
daughter is a warrior.'"She can take all these things that are happening around her, that are these
very adult, complicated, complex situations and ideas, and she's able to
somehow put something behind it with more strength than you see in most
people. I was amazed by how strong she is. She's just a powerhouse."
Even writing about this story I get chills. It is such a powerful story and as a parent, it's very hard to side with one character.

Her movie didn't fare so well this last weekend. Maybe fourth? It wasn't top three. Not hard to see why; who wants to go see such a downer movie? At least, I'm assuming the ending isn't exactly a porcupine riding a unicorn over a rainbow.

The ending is different from the book... the book was AMAZING!!
I think the ending might ruin it if they changed it from the book... the ending in the book shocked you.. and it was amazing... hopefully---- they didnt really change it!

Yeah, I initially hated the ending of the book, but I can't imagine a different one now. I heard about the movie's ending...seriously?! >.<

I've heard they changed the ending, too. Can anyone who's seen the film confirm without spoiling it?
Yes, they definitely changed the ending. Big time.
Lara Jane, some jerk below commented on the ending and spoiled it for all of us.

I agree with Manimal on why it didn't open so well. It is such a depressing subject. And the fact that it opened the same weekend as Transformers. LOL But I'm still going to go see it at some point in the next week or so. I need to go read the book first, though.
Abigails character dies in a car accident after she succesfully becomes medically amancipated from her parents.
Clearly you have not read the book.....

I really dont like Cameron acting in a serious role, she is much more enjoyable to watch in funny silly movies like: the mask, the sweetest thing, Something about Mary, even charlies Angel's

I like Cameron, but her face doesn't look...right.

It may be that Cameron's face is evolving into a more mature 'womanly' look? Does anyone know how old she is now? Mid-thirties?
She botoxed the shit out of her face before she got her star. I dont like it.

I want to see it, but it is a sad story.
she needs to chill out on the red lipstick especially since she has no lips
She looks ridiculous. She has all those crow's feet but no forehead wrinkles. Botox only calls more attention to your normal aging process. It is normal for the skin to change as people get older. Otherwise people look like freaks.
I think Roland West did it.

Still find it difficult to take her seriously. She looks like all she could ever do is rom-com so would be interesting to see how she undertakes this movie.
