Celebrities Respond To Michael Jackson's Death

Who isn't shocked!? I still can't believe that Michael Jackson has died. I mean, the man was only 50 and is was arguably the most famous man on the planet. Any country, any song, any time of your life - I'm pretty sure Michael was involved.

Celebs are beginning to react.

Madonna "can't stop crying" about the death of Michael Jackson.

"I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

'Candle in the Wind' singer Sir Elton John was halfway though his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball when he heard about Michael's death.
He broke the news to his guests - including Liz Hurley, Hugh Grant, Lily Allen and Kelly Osbourne - before dedicating his song 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' to Michael.
Nearly half of his guests left after they found out about the death.

Britney Spears was one of the first to express her grief about the pop icon's passing.
In a statement issued last night, she said:

"I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"

Justin Timberlake has also paid tribute to the "inspirational genius".
He wrote on his website:

"We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."

Beyonce Knowles has also sent her condolences to Michael's family, saying:

"This is such a tragic loss and a terrible day. The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be.

"Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away. For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honoured to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael."

Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson's oldest friends, was "too devastated" to comment.

'Thriller' producer Quincy Jones feels like a "piece of his soul" died with Michael Jackson.

"I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words.
"To this day, the music we created together on 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad' is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all. talent, grace, professionalism and dedication.

"He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother and part of my soul has gone with him."

Music critic Paul Gambaccini was "overwhelmed".

"Michael Jackson really is the last of the classic pop stars, like Elvis, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra. He was the greatest showman I have ever seen and he will go down in history as one of the best ever."

Brooke Shields, Cher, Jane Fonda, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Rogers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, MC Hammer, John Mayer, Lindsay Lohan, Ashton Kutcher, Denise Richards, Nicky Hilton, Katy Perry, Celine Dion and Usher have also expressed their shock and sadness and sent their love to Michael's family.

Look, I am sorry he died, he was indeed a musical genius. But, please, let's not forget that he was also a pedophile. Accused twice, "acquitted" twice but his acquittal rings as hollow as OJ's did. I won;t shed a tear.

He was only officially charged once. The first accusations were entirely too weak to take to trial. And I'm sorry that you both think his "acquittal" was undeserved but it was determined fair and square in a court of law, by a jury of his peers. That's the way our legal system works. And unfortunately, people are falsely accused of terrible things all the time. Rent the documentary "Capturing the Friedmans" and you'll see what I mean.

PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS he has only been gone for less than 24hrs and all you can remember him off is allegation of child molestation..........Where you there?...........Why don't you allow God to be the judge and keep your opinion to yourself. Michael Jackson was a Legend and the Greatest. Despite what you think of him, he's the best thing that ever happened to MUSIC.

It's funny...I posted similar comments last night and got BLASTED for it. His early music was great, and he was pivotal in getting black artists into the mainstream, but in my mind, he will be remembered as the man who ruined the lives of AT LEAST 2 children. How is that being skated over by the media? How quickly they forget. I'm just saying-death does not erase his actions in life

I completely agree with you! I was telling my husband that his death is bittersweet - bitter because of the great entertainer he was in the 80s, but (and I dont really want to say "sweet"), but sweet becuase he did that to children.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Nicole, you have it backwards on the bitter-sweet thing...It's bitter because of the pedophile label, sweet because of his musical talent. Just sayin'...

Hell, you don't know what you are talking about he was found innocent and you can not prove otherwise. Why don't everyone who has something against the man just shut the hell up and let him rest in peace, you would want the same respect!!!!!!

It's funny you say he wrecked the lives of 2 children, when the parents of those children let them stay with Michael Jackson. Why would someone do that? Stay in a house of a stranger, a man who wanted to be a child... now that is strange.

So, it's the parents' fault????? geez, you are twisted.

How am I twisted? I wouldn't let my child stay with a stranger and have a sleepover with a man! The fact the parents did was twisted.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

What I meant is that it seems absurb to blame the parents for "allowing" them to be molested. It was proven in court that MJ wa no "stranger" to these kids. The parents had no reason to not trust the situation. It was MJ who molested them and his fault, not the parent's fault.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

I abosolutely do NOT believe that MJ did anything to those children. I think that their parents saw an opportunity to make some money!

ApeyL ApeyL said:

wasn't he found NOT GUILTY...on ALL charges!? I believe so.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

yeah and so was OJ. Just because someone is acquitted in a court of law does not mean they are innocent.

Gisela Gisela said:

So according to your comment when a jury finds someone "not guilty", they are still guilty?.....because that is what your comment implies; people found not guilty are still guilty no matter what the jury says? You can't base every court case and every jury decision on OJ Simpson's case. Sorry, but that is the most asinine comment I've read so far.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

No, pay attention. What I am saying is that clearly the OJ jury got it wrong (sure it's my opinion, but it's shared by a vast majority of the population) and that, to many, MJ's jury got it wrong too. So, I choose not to be so gullible and take what comes out of American juris prudence as gospel. It's not infallible. In my opinion, they were both guilty. That's what my sarcastic comment meant. Got it?

sambas sambas said:

nail on the head right there! i have always and will always stick up for him and believe his innocence...i believe he had no sense of self (and how anyone would get a sense of self with his lifetime history as a money making machine for parents since he was 5yrs is beyond me)...and some manipulative 'clever' sharks took advantage of his vulnerability. happens all the time. there are many corrupt ppl in this world. it was the parents who 'ruined' the childrens lives. NOT MJ. he was tested by psychs who said he had reverted back to the state of a 10y/o...its called 'escapism' from the harsh realities of his own life and the abuse he had endured from family and society and the media. this world is full of injustice. makes me sick. why would anyone...ANYONE let their children stay with a man they barely know? or even one they do know? i mean, c'mon the parents had some clever motives going on there. can anyone say 'BIG MONEY'

I just love how Michael Jackson and OJ will ALWAYS be guilty even after being cleared in the courts while Woody Allen fu**d his daughter and then married her (fine they're not related but still) Josh Brolin beat his wife and nobody talks about it anymore, anybody remember Robert Blake? If OJ did it, he did too. Forget the court systems, the court of public opinion is just a lynch party waiting to happen. I'm not suggesting racism I just think there's a serious double standard. People are a lot less likely to forgive and forget when the accused and/or convicted is black. If you believe in any sort of after life you know that MJ will be judged and punished for whatever wrongs he's done, can't we just celebrate his talent without dragging his name through the mud at EVERY opportunity.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

why in the hell bring race into this???? By his OWN admission, MJ said he saw nothing wrong in sharing a bed with little kids. This is perfectly understandable if a parent says that about their own children, but when it comes from wacko jacko's mouth, it's just perverted. Personally, I hope he goes to hell for it.

I am not sad that Michael Jackson is dead. Yes he made some alright music, but you'd think he cured cancer or brought about world peace from the way some of the media and his deluded fans are behaving.
Michael Jackson was a paedophile. The fact that he wasn't convicted is irrelevant. If he was guilt free of the numerous sexual abuse claims against him, why did he pay them off? Why didn't he clear his name and sue them?
There are many innocent people in jail, and no doubt many guilty people walking free.
I'm sure all the people all round the world who have ever been hurt by a paedophile will not be mourning his death, they will be celebrating - I know I am. He's dead and I'm pleased, at least there's one less nonce in the world now.
Michael Jackson Rest in Peace - NO! - Rot in Hell for all Eternity.

Okay, so we all have our opinion of Micheal Jackson, all of which is neither here nor there. The man just died so yes, a little respect needs to be shown. If anyone remembers right the first child's parents tried to get more money after they received the first settlement. I have also wondered why he settled but then honestly, I can not blame him, he did not want it to be leaked to the media but it was anyway. I do not necessarily believe the man is not guilty but it is not & was not up for me or any of you to decide.

Do not judge what you do not know. There was no evidence of him doing that to children. were you there did you see him do that. I dont know about anyone else but i need proof or evidence that he actually did that to children. when i get that proof then i will judge.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

He had so much love for children, more than anyone could think of. WHY ?because he felt their pain, he saw things that we don't see, that we only hear about. He witnessed and saw dying children from all sort of diseases and neglect from parents. People need to stop looking at the negative and start allowing their cold-worldly-heart receive the positive.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Michael never had a proper childhood, so his mental capacity halted at an early age. He never wanted to grow up and become and adult. So I honestly believe that he is completely innocent like children are at a young age. He never molested any kids, they were all just after his money.

Michael was genuinely in love with children. Now I guess it sounds creepy because he was a man. If Michael were a woman you guys would not have these stereotypes about him. This society does not allow adult men to be caring about children the way Michael did. Lastly to those that speak badly towards him, I am sure that Michael's kids loved him more then any of your children will ever love you.
