Celebrities Respond To Michael Jackson's Death
Who isn't shocked!? I still can't believe that Michael Jackson has died. I mean, the man was only 50 and is was arguably the most famous man on the planet. Any country, any song, any time of your life - I'm pretty sure Michael was involved.
Celebs are beginning to react.
Madonna "can't stop crying" about the death of Michael Jackson.
"I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."
'Candle in the Wind' singer Sir Elton John was halfway though his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball when he heard about Michael's death.
He broke the news to his guests - including Liz Hurley, Hugh Grant, Lily Allen and Kelly Osbourne - before dedicating his song 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' to Michael.
Nearly half of his guests left after they found out about the death.
Britney Spears was one of the first to express her grief about the pop icon's passing.
In a statement issued last night, she said:
"I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"
Justin Timberlake has also paid tribute to the "inspirational genius".
He wrote on his website:

"Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away. For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honoured to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael."
Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson's oldest friends, was "too devastated" to comment.
'Thriller' producer Quincy Jones feels like a "piece of his soul" died with Michael Jackson.
"I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words.
"To this day, the music we created together on 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad' is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all. talent, grace, professionalism and dedication."He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother and part of my soul has gone with him."
Music critic Paul Gambaccini was "overwhelmed".
"Michael Jackson really is the last of the classic pop stars, like Elvis, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra. He was the greatest showman I have ever seen and he will go down in history as one of the best ever."
Brooke Shields, Cher, Jane Fonda, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Rogers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, MC Hammer, John Mayer, Lindsay Lohan, Ashton Kutcher, Denise Richards, Nicky Hilton, Katy Perry, Celine Dion and Usher have also expressed their shock and sadness and sent their love to Michael's family.
Look, I am sorry he died, he was indeed a musical genius. But, please, let's not forget that he was also a pedophile. Accused twice, "acquitted" twice but his acquittal rings as hollow as OJ's did. I won;t shed a tear.

He was only officially charged once. The first accusations were entirely too weak to take to trial. And I'm sorry that you both think his "acquittal" was undeserved but it was determined fair and square in a court of law, by a jury of his peers. That's the way our legal system works. And unfortunately, people are falsely accused of terrible things all the time. Rent the documentary "Capturing the Friedmans" and you'll see what I mean.

It's funny...I posted similar comments last night and got BLASTED for it. His early music was great, and he was pivotal in getting black artists into the mainstream, but in my mind, he will be remembered as the man who ruined the lives of AT LEAST 2 children. I completely agree with you! I was telling my husband that his death is bittersweet - bitter because of the great entertainer he was in the 80s, but (and I dont really want to say "sweet"), but sweet becuase he did that to children.

What I meant is that it seems absurb to blame the parents for "allowing" them to be molested. It was proven in court that MJ wa no "stranger" to these kids. The parents had no reason to not trust the situation. It was MJ who molested them and his fault, not the parent's fault.

I am not sad that Michael Jackson is dead. Yes he made some alright music, but you'd think he cured cancer or brought about world peace from the way some of the media and his deluded fans are behaving.
Michael Jackson was a paedophile. The fact that he wasn't convicted is irrelevant. If he was guilt free of the numerous sexual abuse claims against him, why did he pay them off? Why didn't he clear his name and sue them?
There are many innocent people in jail, and no doubt many guilty people walking free.
I'm sure all the people all round the world who have ever been hurt by a paedophile will not be mourning his death, they will be celebrating - I know I am. He's dead and I'm pleased, at least there's one less nonce in the world now.

Okay, so we all have our opinion of Micheal Jackson, all of which is neither here nor there. The man just died so yes, a little respect needs to be shown. If anyone remembers right the first child's parents tried to get more money after they received the first settlement. I have also wondered why he settled but then honestly, I can not blame him, he did not want it to be leaked to the media but it was anyway. I do not necessarily believe the man is not guilty but it is not & was not up for me or any of you to decide.

Do not judge what you do not know. There was no evidence of him doing that to children. were you there did you see him do that. I dont know about anyone else but i need proof or evidence that he actually did that to children. when i get that proof then i will judge.
He had so much love for children, more than anyone could think of. WHY ?because he felt their pain, he saw things that we don't see, that we only hear about. I saw him in concert in the 80's before his face changed so drastically. He was amazing as an entertainer. There was something palpably unique about him. I will never forget the energy in that venue. Other stars I've seen didn't touch his talent regardless of his personal life.
