One of the best books I picked up at MoCCA was NACHTDIEREN (Night Animals) – a beautiful and ribald graphic novella http://www.batty.com by Brecht Evans. Looks like Night Animals has been picked up by Top Shelf and will be released later this year. Drawn & Quarterly will also be publishing Evans’ other book, The Wrong

  6. I need to make a tourist Visa for China. I read on a site (flychina.com) that I cannot do this without going to a China Consulate office in person which does not exist in Florida and that they will do this for $172. Can anyone confirm that this is or is not true? If it is are there cheaper alternatives?

Hey Vera…. I thought I like Shia also buuuut, when I heard in the interview how he talks about Germany…. really sad…not a good role model and I don´t think it is funny to tell in a LATENIGHT Show what many people will see…to say things like “Germany= enemy Country” “german food but he is Jewish, so no thank you” …. good job Shia… thanks that we are still the NAZI´s for your country…that is what I think because I am from Germany and know I think the most American also YOUNG People think we are NAZI´s – it´s soooo terrible…I´m really sad about that… is this my fault that unfortunatly we have this terrible past? …. I was so happy when I came this year for the first time to USA…all people were sooo friendly and nice…but know … maybe they lied to my when they said they like Germany… I´m really sad….

In my opinion you misunderstood Shia. I think he was just joking when he talked about Germany as being an enemy. Or if not joking than he was talking about the past. Also, it seemed to me like he didn’t get the history quite correct. He also talked about going to (South) Korea, which was never an enemy. So don’t take everything he says so seriously. I’m sure that the majority of Americans don’t think that Germans are still Nazis and that they actually really like Germany. I’m German too and I have lived in the States for a couple of years, so trust me, most Americans don’t think negatively about Germany anymore.
Oh, and BTW, I thought the movie was great!

  9. Good to see he is doing well. I think he gets nervous during interviews and grasps at straws when he can’t think of something clever to say, hence the Germany comments. I doubt he has anything against Germany. He just needs to add some more words to his vocabulary so he is better in interviews. http://www.pensacolalawyer.com has info on drug recall lawsuits.

  17. This is my first trip with my girlfriend outside the US. We’ve been trying to do this for a year but our jobs have been conflicting, so the stakes are high as we rarely get 10 days off. I’m trying to figure out what would be the best time us.

Of the many things I noticed last week at the MySQL Conference, one of the most notable was how many companies have not upgraded from MySQL 5.0 to 5.1 yet. Craigslist is in that camp and it seems that http://www.kerrigan.com we’re joined by the likes of Facebook, Google, Yahoo, and about half a dozen other companies that use MySQL heavily. Come to think of it, SmugMug are the only folks I’ve talked with who’ve made the jump (video). So it’s not…

For a while now we’ve had a computer hooked up to our large http://www.meek.info screen television and stereo system. A couple months back I upgraded the motherboard, CPU, and memory so that we could start using the Windows 7 release candidate and Windows Media Center on it. The new hardware also meant we could play back high definition video. Aside from playing back photos in Picasa and various video files, we also stream music using Pandora or play from our library…
