Michael Jackson's Doctor Has Denied Involvement With Death

Michael Jackson's doctor has denied administering a painkiller which is believed to have led to his death.
Dr. Conrad Murray
- the pop legend's personal cardiologist - says he didn't give the singer an injection of the powerful painkiller Demerol, which reportedly triggered his suspected cardiac arrest last week.

Dr. Murray's lawyer Edward Chernoff insists the physician never prescribed nor administered Demerol - one of the cocktail of prescription drugs reportedly found in the star's body after his death - to Jackson.
Chernoff said:

"There was no Demerol. Not ever. He just happened to find him in his bed and he wasn't breathing. Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

It is thought 50-year-old Jackson went into cardiac arrest and his heart stopped beating around an hour after being given a shot of Demerol.
It was claimed yesterday that in an attempt to revive the singer, Dr. Murray later gave him a shot of adrenalin straight into his chest and performed CPR.
Leaked information from the initial autopsy on Jackson reportedly shows he was jabbed in the heart four times, thought to be the attempts to get adrenalin to his heart. He also had several broken ribs from the CPR.

Jackson's family are said to be desperate to speak with Dr. Murray and get his full account of the time he spent with the star and the procedures he took to revive him.
It has further been reported by a family source it took 50 minutes before an ambulance was called for Jackson, while desperate attempts to resuscitate him were made.

Reverend Jesse Jackson said:

"There is a concern about what happened the last 12 hours of Michael's life.
"The doctor has showed some bizarre behavior. Apparently, the doctor was with Michael, maybe administering to his back pain. And then, the next thing that happens is there is a 911 call.

"He hadn't talked with the family. He didn't sign the death certificate. He didn't talk with the coroner. And then he was missing in action."

Dr. Murray reportedly went "missing" soon after Jackson's death. He was questioned by Los Angeles police investigating Jackson's death yesterday, although their investigation is not criminal. Police also made it clear Dr. Murray was questioned as a witness and is not a suspect.
It is believed Jackson was being treated by a number of doctors at the time of his death.

I feel sorry for the doctor that he is being judged so harshly when his client obviously had such huge issues. He was just trying to help and it looks like he is fully cooperating with the authorities. His lawyer Ed Chernoff seems to be doing a good job explaining as much as he can. I guess we'll see what happens when the toxicology results come out.

Sounds like the family is looking for someone to point the finger at. They all knew for years that Michael had serious drug issues but now they are going to blame some doctor just because he was the one there at the time. How unfortunate.

He administered four shots of adrenaline to the heart, never called an ambulance, and you don't think the fingers should be pointed at him in blame? Nobody is denying Michael had drug problems, but this doctor had a major error in judgment at best!

there's a lot of curiosity that's for sure. Questions, you know, like the idea that Jermaine Jackson was chosen to speak for the family, but he hasn't revealed anything about M.J.'s drug use. To date I believe he has only spoken with the Matt Lousy and Larry king. Jermaine Jackson is protective of his brother and always has been, unlike Latoya Jackson, who exploited her family with hatred, even now she's on t.v. talking about how dangerous the pet monkey was, (little respect for the dead) No Jermaine Jackson speaks for the family no one else, his feelings are heart felt & can be believed. Matt Lauer is a hard ass emotionless human being on television, If Jermaine can make it past that kind of weak reporting then it's o.k.

And i hope it doesn't get any nastier, but it surely looks that way.

My understanding is that if ribs are broken while administering CPR, something was done incorrectly. I'm sure Michael was in a fragile state, but that's so drastic.

There have been reports that CPR was administered while on the bed, instead of on a flat surface. Shouldn't a cardiologist be expected to know how to properly administer CPR? The 911 operator even informed the caller to move Michael Jackson onto the floor and NOT to perform CPR while he was in bed.

It is common to break ribs while doing CPR. If you are pushing hard enough to pump the heart often a rib will break. However doing CPR on the bed makes no sense whatsoever.

It is not that rare to break ribs while doing CPR. Especially if the person is frail like elderly, a baby or too thin or sickly. It's something they warn you about when you are trained in CPR. A few broken ribs are nothing if you save the life.

MJ's untimely demise is just like Elvis. Nobody ever said no because they knew they'd get booted off the gravy train. It's very sad. And it's very sad that Michael was the subject of ridicule by EVERYONE these past few years and now everyone's lining up to pay respect and tribute. And to Jamie Foxx et al, Michael didn't belong to black people. His fans ran the gamut of all races, genders, creeds etc. And he sure did do his best not to look black and his kids are white. Just saying.

It's so sad to think his death could have been preventable, but if he had some problems like it's being reported it was just a matter of time anyway. It's done now and we'll never know. I hope he was happy towards the end getting ready for his packed concerts.

Happy,.. well one could only hope. The press conference in March, sounded like he was just tired. Who knows I could be wrong, that's only my opinion, no one has to agree or disagree with it. This is it, the final certain call.. followed by what looked like unwilling enthusiasm. He knew he had health issues that would cause problems during the tour, that had to be a concern, the entire time. Happy? I have to think that was something he never had, because of what he's said in the past. That's sad. But his pain is gone. It was an awful lot of emotional baggage. This isn't it.. this is peace.

If Michael only weighed 112lbs., I think it would be easy to break ribs during CPR. IMO

Jesus, when will all this end? Probably never. It doesn't pay to be famous. All your info is put out there, like really bad. The next thing you know, fans will be saying it was a wax dummy in the casket and Michael is living in seclusion under the care of physicians at an undisclosed location, never epected to fully recover. Sound familiar?
