Drea De Matteo To Join Desperate Housewives

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Drea de Matteo is set to join the cast of 'Desperate Housewives'. Now that Nicolette Sheridan's character is long gone, they needed to bring in some drama and Drea promises to bring the goods.
De Matteo, who will be a series regular, will play the matriarch of a new Italian family. Casting is underway for her landscape designer husband and their tightly wound son.

Too bad she's coming onto the show when the ratings are low and the show probably won't last too much longer. I liked her in The Sopranos, but I'm not exactly sure she's a good fit for Wisteria Lane
