AHHHHHHHH, I just LOVE Emma Watson. She’s on the cover of Elle Magazine’s August issue and is looking gorgeous as usual.
Emma gave a few quotes about what she’s expecting from life as a student at Columbia University.
‘I’m so excited. Living in London, it’s hard to be anonymous.
‘But hopefully, on some campus somewhere, I’ll fade into the background a bit.’
She also talks about life after ‘Harry Potter.’
‘It’s going to sound dramatic, but I feel like it’s going to be my
life over as I know it,’ she said.‘My whole life has been about Harry
Potter and then all of that will shut down and I don’t know what it
will be like.‘I go to university in September – I’ll be doing bits and bobs at
Christmas, but September feels like my cut-off point, the moment when
I’ll really stop.’
Emma isn’t even sure she wants to continue acting.
‘At the moment I feel like I need to go away and figure out what I
want to do and be myself for a bit,’ she said.‘Does that sound
strange? I just want to take a step back from it and not rush into
stuff.‘I need university to give me that break. People think because I’m
going to university I’m never going to act again, but it’s actually me.
I want to figure out how I feel about everything first. Maybe I’ll keep
acting, maybe I won’t.
‘I just want to find something where I feel I have to do this. Maybe
that’ll happen when I read a script. It felt like that with Hermione. I
want to feel like that again.

She never revealed that she’s going to Columbia. I believe it was JustJared who first reported it and the Charlotte E. Watson that was listed in the directory is going the the “School of Continuing Education.” Why would Emma Watson be enrolled in Columbia’s School of Continuing Education instead just the regular college?
IIRC, she was also very hesitant to continue doing the Harry films…. I wouldn’t be surprised if she basically disappears for a few years while going to school.

I love these shots. She’s grown into such a gorgeous young woman. I can’t imagine how weird it will be for her have completely finished the Harry Potter movies forever.

I can hardly believe she’s getting ready to go to university! It doesn’t seem like that long ago when she was that messy haired little girl in the first Harry Potter film.

If she wants to be so anonymous (to the point of changing her name when she goes to university), why does she pose on covers of magazines and give so many interviews?
maybe she wants to make sure that people still remember about her IF she decides to come back to the industry?

Really? I found going away to college gave me a chance to do things and meet people I might otherwise not have.
Clearly then you haven’t gone to college. It’s ALL about finding yourself and maturing through education and the experience. Why am I not surprised though??
