Should Jon And Kate Gosselin Continue Filming Their Reality Show?

Fans are split on this subject and I am curious to hear what you think. Should Jon and Kate Gosselin continue to film their TLC reality show, 'Jon and Kate Plus 8'? Some are saying many would be able to relate considering over half of marriages end in a split.

They have the opportunity to explore a situation facing a lot of American families when the parents get divorced. And it sounds like Jon and Kate have come up with a unique situation where they're going to take turns being in the house with the kids,” Jonathan Murray of “The Real World” told USA Today. "You can explore what happens when a couple breaks up and how both are working hard to keep things as normal as possible for the kids.”

Yet others insist the family should end their relationship with the press.

“If the cameras have to continue because of contractual obligations, then leave the kids out at this point,”

What do you think? How should this family handle their split?

for the sake of those children, they need to stop. People need time to heal from such a big change and they definitely cannot do that with cameras on them all the time. Its unnatural. Kate needs to quit being selfish and do what she set out 5 years ago to do: be a mother.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Kate is being a mother. Does a mom have to stay home 24/7 in your eyes? She did that for 5 years, now that she has to leave sometimes and promote her book Jon has all these problems with the marrige. He said in one show being at home with the kids is not a man's job. Give me a break!

I'm not exactly sure what you think is wrong with that outfit? Her skirt is knee length and she's wearing a tank top with it. Cute summer outfit.

As for the show, the damage is done. I agree (to a point) that they have an opportunity to take a look at how a couple who has obvious animosity towards each other (well, at least Jon has towards Kate) manages to put it aside and come together for their kids. Divorce happens, all the time, actually, whether cameras are involved or not. Maybe being in the spotlight will make them grow up and behave more maturely. Kate seems to have tried to change for the better. Maybe Jon will realize what a tool he has been and change as well

Gee, I don't know...40 years ago, another set of parents pimped out their 8 kids for their own fame and fortune, the dad had one affair right after the other, sometimes in the same room as his kids...and those kids turned out okay, except for the fact that they all have had multiple plastic surgeries to change the way they look, half are drug addicted and the most famous of the eight just died addicted to painkillers and 400 million dollars in debt...but other than that, continuing this charade is probably a great idea!

from watching the show, the film crew is not around at all times, and they plan events to do when the film crew is there. At one point is seemed diffrent, but now, they do not show the family on a normal day, just hanging out at home, but instead it all seems like planned out events.

And, importantly, the kids seem happy! When they put up a fight about being on TV, then end it. And, maybe the free trips, and special days out help those little guys have fun, with out their parents fighting for a few days a month. At least when the cameras are on, John and Kate have stopped figthing as much.

i agree that the film crew seems to only be around for special events these days. in previous seasons they were filming day to day things, but so far this season it's been special events. i wonder if that was the compromise they came to since jon didn't really want to do the show anymore? anyways, the sextuplets will be in full day school soon, so they won't be able to film them most of the time anyways. not saying it's right or wrong to continue, hopefully jon and kate keep the focus on doing what is best for their kids. if the kids are happy and healthy then that's what matters.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Everything they taped was staged, the kids seem happier because last year TLC sat her nasty ass down and told her, never mind the husband dumping her, she was losing viewers. The public was voicing its opinion, they saw her as a screaming shrew that did not do anything with her kids but complain and shoo them away. If she wanted to continue the charade she would have to chill out and do things with them.

I completely agree with this. These people (Kate, mainly) are selfish, spoiled pigs who forgot why they wanted children in the first place. Now it's all about the almighty dollar.

The Joe Jackson comparison wasn't far off.

I totally agree with you. All Kate cares about is being famous. You rarely see pics of Jon with the kids outside of filming but she is all the time pimping them out.

For the kids sake they should stop filming and live in privacy till things settle down. Years from now, those kids are going to watch that show and remember things that shouldn't be caught on film and times they probably wouldn't want to remember (on or off camera).

The show should be stopped. All Kate seems to want to do lately is parade around in a bikini and have the focus on her, which was not the original focus of the show. The children are no longer the center of the show and it seems that in every show the past few seasons, Jon and Kate were getting some kind of freebies ( solar panels for their house, scooters, crooked houses, etc.) I feel that J & K need to be put back into the real world and learn how to respect their children, and themselves. Kate needs to learn how to learn to control her temper and to stop badmouthing Jon, which drove him away. They both thought that this flow of cash would continue indefintely and now they realize that it won't. They killed the goose that laid the golden egg. And, from what I have read, Kate's new cookbook has been postponed b/c she plagiarized much of the material. She is a fake who thinks she is an A-list celebrity. Kudos to Jon for finally having the guts to standing up to her. I just feel sorry for those children who will end up bearing the brunt of her anger.

please stop the show. enough with J&K8....what can we possibly learn from this family that we can't get anywhere else...now its just all about the $$...stop being selfish!! what will the new shows consist of...kate being all in the lime light and showing us that she can do it no matter what (of course w/ the help of nannies, cooks, helpers, etc) and poor john looking miserable and for work..give me a break. you know it would have been different if they would have handle this whole divorce thing differently i think more people would have empathized with them...cut them off!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

why doesn't jon and kate stop the show and get real work and support their family like the rest of us do....enough with your 15 minutes of fame. go fix your family....what are you teaching the future of tomorrow...go ahead, when the rough gets tough just give up and divorce...nice...you have eight case of future divorce righ there....what are those statistics...when your parents divorce....etc...ok! i thought the whole purpose of doing this reality show was to show america how a family does it with 8 kids....feed off of the show and lives lavish lives! that's pretty sweet! mission accomplished...but with all of what they have, i would definitely decline so that i can have the happiness and love of my husband and kids....she sure knows how to set her priorities....no offense but she did come from a trailer park...jon is too good for her...i guess that is why his family is no where around...they must have warned him! stop the show!!

I think they should stop filming. Their kids are all going to be able to watch all of this when they get older and learn how to use the internet! I feel bad for them. It is hard enough for your parents to separate without having it filmed and exploited. Kate seems like she is all about the fame and $ and Jon doesn't seem to care about anything at all. Really sad.

Kate looks great here! She is always so toned and tanned and fit. I will truly miss this show and the way it used to be. It makes me so sad to see old episodes when there were one big happy family. However, it is probably a good idea at this point to not film the show, which is what they are doing right now anyway.

A normal family would have had to manage on their own, with jobs to support them. These got everything thrown at them, and on top of that they felt they were entitled to even more. Let them just disappear forever.

Haven't these two destroyed their family enough?? The public doesn't to see how divorce affects children by having them followed by camera. It's purely voyeuristic.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

more importantly - why do they have 8 children? it is 6 children too many!!! having too many children breaks up marriages and two parents cannot pay attention to 8 kids - ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly think they should QUIT. There's no point in continuing the series once everyone knows they are a torn family. Why would WE want to watch a torn family on TV. Depressing. I used to watch their show because they used to portray a happy family who always got through their everyday struggles - TOGETHER. Now, its just lame. So, in other words, NO i will not be watching that wretched show.
