Kelly Rowland Isn't Ready To Find Her Biological Father
Kelly Rowland doesn't feel "ready" to search for her biological father.
The 28-year-old singer - who has not seen her dad since she was seven - has
refuted reports she is tracking him down, claiming she couldn't cope with
the emotional upheaval at the moment.
"I don't know who started that story! I
haven't actually. I feel like I'm not really ready for that yet, I've enough
going on in my life to really open that up. Maybe later on in about 16 or 17
months. I told myself I'd work for 16 long months and then I'd take a
vacation or a break, but now is not that time for me."
Kelly and her mother Doris Rowland Garrison left the family home because her
father was "drunk and aggressive".
The 'When Love Takes Over' singer has previously insisted she will meet up
with him at some point in her life, adding she has no idea if he is even
still alive.
"I don't know where he is but I hope he's not dead. That would
break my heart. I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom
but not me. It took courage for her to get away.
"I don't know if he knows who I am or what I've done. He must be hiding
under a rock if he doesn't."
Thank goodness Kelly's mother got out when she could AND they had friends to stay with. What a wonderful thing to do for a family in need.

It's a good thing she got away. If she doesn't feel like she wants to find him, then it is really her decision. It's not fair that the media would try to start that story.

Ihad no idea about this and good that i didn't. Private thing like this should stay private. And she'll decide whenever she is ready to find him if ever. Good that her mom found courage and walked on him. Noone should endure aggressive and drunk behaviour.

Wow, she had a smart mom, a lot of moms decide to stay and allow their children to suffer. My personal opinion... she mgiht not like what she finds, and for all she knows he mgiht want to have some type of relationship with her for her money, it will only cause mental drama for her

Being in this same situation myself as a child.....it's hard to have a relationship with a parent that was abusive. My heart goes out to her.---em's
If her dad is alive, I have to give him credit for not being the kind of sleazeball who surfaces when their kid is rich and famous and cries about how much he's always loved her and, hey, can you buy Daddy a new car?

Geez, overreacting much? Someone writing on a gossip site about a rumor they heard? SHOCKER! Maybe you should go to a different site. Besides, I've heard that same rumor for years.
