Sophia Bush Is No Gym Rat!

Sophia Bush has a fantastic body, clearly. But, she says she doesn't suffer to stay in shape. She's one actress who enjoys being healthy but won't live in the gym to have the perfect figure.
“As
I’m getting older, I appreciate being healthy for the way that I feel,
you know for being able to get through a sixteen hour day which is
easier when you’re body is functioning properly. But I’m not one of
those crazies who’s in the gym everyday. I think its really strange
with people saying, ‘this is my daily regimen and this is my diet and
this is my crazy weight loss tip.’ it informs a side of physical
obsession that I really don’t think is healthy, especially for the
young girls who watch our show,”“I love food, you know, my family is Italian. I can’t get
enough of it. I love bread and cheese and pasta and good wine and all
of it really. But I try to eat something green once a day.”
That sounds like a good, balanced approach to looking at things. Sophia is beautiful, and it's good to know that she's not starving herself, like some actresses do, just to try and make it in the industry.

Her quote reminds me of something Sandra Bullock said in InStyle a few months ago. Paraphrased, "I see a lot of actresses say, 'Oh, I don't watch what I eat or exercise' and I think, 'I see you at the gym at 5:30 a.m.!'"

This is the way I try to live my life as well... but it doesn't seem to work as well for me as it does for Sophia!! :)

No joke.....i wish i could get away with no working out.---em's
I don't think this is a good OR balanced way of looking at things at all. This whole air of effortless fitness some actresses give is BS and gives the wrong impression to young girls who think their bodies should just naturally look like this and when they don't, end up falling into cycles of self-destructive eating habits. I call shenanigans!!

I'm gonna have to agree.
The fact is, you cannot eat "bread and cheese and pasta" regularly and expect to be a size 2. Maybe she does it in moderation, in which case, she should say so.
My metabolism was "fast" until I developed hypothyroidism. Before that, I could eat whatever I wanted, but I still still dancing and weight training and working on keeping fit, even though at the time it was just my lifestyle and didn't "feel" like work.

She is so pretty. I use to eat whatever I wanted, but after my 2nd kid my whole metabolism changed. ~ Liz ~

I've been lucky to have a fast metobolism, but I'm always afraid it's going to slow down! I really just need to start eating healthy... I love junk food!

She's still young and her metabolism is fast. A lot of young people don't realize how metabolism slows down after the age of 30, 3% a year I believe. She's very sweet looking though :)

I don't think she has that great a body... She looks good in the pic above tho.
OK, Sophia needs to get off her high horse and stop judging people. There is nothing "crazy" about going to the gym every day unless it's an unhealthy obsession where you spend 6 hours in there or you freak out if you miss a day. As someone who goes to the gym for 1 hour every day, I say Sophia sounds like an ignorant snob. I work out 6 days a week, and it shows. She DOESN'T work out, and believe me it shows as well. If I can't go one day because of work or a friend's birthday, I skip it. That's healthier than sitting around getting jiggly like Sophia. Also, we KNOW she's Italian. She says that in every darn interview. Being Italian doesn't mean not working out and stuffing one's face with pasta and cheese. There are plenty of healthy foods in Italian cuisine such as white bean/barley soup and what's more, authentic Italian cooking uses a lot of Arugula and Kale. This girl needs a reality check.
Just wait - Sophia will be eating her words within a matter of 5 years, especially if God permits her to procreate. She will either realize that going to the gym is part of a healthy lifestyle, or she will go off the deep end and fall into the very destructive behavior which she is alluding to. You'd think someone who works 16 hours a day would understand the importance of the stress relief that working out provides. Kudos Sophia for fending off obsession, but bad form for trivializing the importance of fitness. You'd think someone who went to private school would know better.
I love her and I think her message is positive! She is healthy but not obsessed with her weight/looks like most celebs are and I think she is a great role model.
