Beyonce Knowles wants to star in ‘Sister Act’.
The ‘Single Ladies’ singer is so desperate to dress up as a nun for a remake
of the 1992 movie – which was recently turned into a sell-out musical in
London’s West End theatre district – she is begging Disney bosses to take up
the project.
Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reports:
"Beyonce has asked her
representatives to persuade Disney to develop the show into a film vehicle
for her.
"If this comes to pass, she would take on, in musical form, the part Whoopi
Goldberg creates in the 1992 ‘Sister Act’ film, although the stage version
moves the action from the West Coast to Philadelphia."
The 27-year-old beauty recently took a break from her UK ‘I Am Sasha Fierce
tour’ to watch the show at the London Palladium theatre.
If the movie project goes ahead, Beyonce will play Deloris Van
Cartier – the role previously portrayed by Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg
- who is forced to dress up as a nun while fleeing a group of gangsters.
Beyonce is also in talks about releasing ‘Take Me To Heaven’, one of the
musical’s well-known hits.

Why would somebody want to remake Sister Act? (for the dosh I suppose) It’s such a great film- leave it alone! I’m fed up with all the remakes that are going on at the moment. Beyonce has a great voice- I love listening to her- but she isn’t a very good actress… is she any good at comedy?
I agree with the above- IF they remade it, Jennifer Hudson would be great in it.

I wouldn’t see it, with or without B taking over the role. The movies were cute but I wouldn’t waste my money seeing it a Broadway/West End version.
I don’t think I would see it. I think Beyonce wouldn’t be able to fill the shoes of Whoopi she is an original!!! Beyonce could definetely cover the muscial portion but the comical part could be a huge bust!!! I am soo sick of the remakes that are happening now too I guess we are really out of ideas!!!!!
Also I don’t like those hip things Beyonce has…..keep that fashion trend in the closet!!!!!
I understand woman can be ‘curvy’ and truly beautiful, but WHAT is going with her outfit? Is that meant to be flattering?? Are those HIP PADS? I just don’t understand.

I have no desire to see Beyonce in any movie, much less a remake of one. And the thing with her hips–I gathered she was trying to look like a Barbie doll come to life. If anyone remembers Barbies kind of have hips that stick out so their legs can move.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! The first Sister Act is just fine if they did re-make it for her to star in then it would be seriously broken : )

I must elaborate on my last comment. I just looked at her again. Her outfit is atrocious. The hips…WTF? It’s unflattering as hell and it looks like it’s padded at the hips. She needs a different cut outfit. In fact, she needs a different stylist. This House of Dereon shit w/mommy has gotta go. Her shiny stockings just make her legs look ick. Her hair is looking fake. It IS fake, but she pays a lot for it so it should not LOOK fake. Her makeup is overdone and the colors are all wrong. Homegirl, you need an all around makeover. Call me.
Hmm…I am torn..Beyonce was in Goldmember and that was a good/silly comedy and I don’t doubt her acting skills…but replacing Whoopi?? I dunno..I think they should get someone else…maybe Beyonce could play a student though.

Is she serious? Beyonce is one of my fave singers but it would be career suicide if she took up that role in Sister Act. I can’t see Beyonce doing comedy. And plus, it would be very hard to pull a Whoopi Goldberg performance in the part of Deloris Van Cartier. That role was for Whoopi only. Queen Latifah or perhaps Jennifer Hudson would make better substitutes!
If the show was all singing, I would think she’d be fine, but unfortunately, she CAN”T ACT, so why is she looking to torture people?

I wondered what was going on with her hips, too. All I can figure is she has MEGA-Spanx around her waist and it’s making blobs underneath??
I was wondering too. It kinda looks like the torso of a small mannequin sitting on the hips and legs of a larger mannequin.

I would have zero interest in seeing her in Sister Act. I think she’s really overrated. She’s a good singer, but she’s not fabulous like everyone makes her out to be. I saw her on the Oscars a couple of years ago singing with Jennifer Hudson and she was trying her hardest to outsing Jennifer Hudson, it was hysterical. Now Jennifer Hudson is someone that would be great for Sister Act.
