I don't think it's about the "bad parts" as much as the fact that (like the intro said) Detroit used to be huge as far as manufacturing, and it didn't lose its status by choice.

I absolutely love this song. There is so much meaning behind it. I think it is especially interesting that this is the only song he wrote before he became sober. Anyone who has been there can definitely relate to this song.

Eminem is the worst thing to come out of Detroit. His new stuff makes my ears bleed it is so terrible. I am a huge rap/hip-hop fan and I really hate Eminem's music and everything else about him.. Huge attention whore.

If this song were directed to a person it would be beautiful.
However, he's saying this in part to himself. He loves detroit, and peopele of that city by default. It is naracistic. true, and disapointing.
