Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer had a baby boy last month, but they chose not to share the name with the public until now…or maybe they just hadn’t picked out a name yet. 
Finding something to fit well with Ruby Sweetheart was probably pretty tough!
Anyway, here it goes…their new son’s name is Otis.
A rep for the Spider-Man star confirms that the latest
addition to the family was named Otis Tobias Maguire. No explanation
was given for the name Otis, though the baby’s middle name of Tobias is
the formal version of the actor’s first name.
Love it or hate it? Otis and Ruby, do those two names work together?

I think Otis and Tobias are cute names, I just dont think they flow well together.
Otis is a cool name (one of my dear friend is an Otis) and I think Otis & Ruby go together perfectly! I do agree that the middle name doesn’t sound just right, but I can certainly see why he used it.
I named my son Henry nine years ago, so I’m “into” old-fashioned.

I think it’s a cute name. I won’t name my kid that but to each his own. I do love the name Ruby though. They are both cute, different names and go well together.

I try to shake it, but I always refer to House of 1000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects when I hear the name OTIS.

My sister in law has a cat named Otis.
Otis, Wilbur, Orville and Horace were all popular names in the late 1800′s, early 1900′s and then their popularity died out. And for good reason.

I like that name–Otis. It reminds me of Otis Spunkmeyer cookies yum! But Ruby Sweetheart is better–it’s just so adorable! And it fits with her face. But I think Ruby and Otis sound great together. I’m back and I’m clad in plaid
Otis isn’t the most terrible name I’ve ever heard, but it’s not the best. I don’t think Otis Tobias flows well at all, but Otis and Ruby sound kind of cute together. Old-fashioned names seem to be making a comeback.

The names work together but both are very, very old names. And sticking Sweetheart after Ruby was just plain stupid. It just sounds ridiculous.
