Michael Bay Just Gave James Frey A Million Little Pennies

Remember all that drama with Oprah and James Frey? I bought into it. I cried with him while watching her show on his book, 'A Million Little Pieces' and then watched him squirm through the retraction.
Fast forward a few years and here we all are.
'Transformers' director Michael Bay and DreamWorks just bought the rights for James' newest sci-fi adventure, 'I Am Number 4'.The book is the first of 6 James has planned for this new series.
How much did James earn? The Hollywood Reporter is saying "high six figures".
The book's storyline involves alien teens assimilating into an Earth high school after their home planet is destroyed by an enemy species. And wouldn't you just know, the bad aliens track the good E.T.s right back here to terra firma
Sounds like a money maker... for everyone involved. Wonder if Oprah approves? :)

Kind of sounds like that TV show Roswell

It really is a shame that he touted the book as his biography because it was a good read (even though the choppy sentences and such drove me crazy) and it's sad that it was tainted like that. He is a very good writer. Bright Shiny Morning was very good.
A good read is a good read. What is a shame is that people put so much stock in Oprah's opinions. He is definitely not, nor will he be the last, author to embellish the truth. I'm glad he's making a lot of money off of his books with or without Oprah's backing.
