Daniel Radcliffe To Take Up Ballet

Daniel Radcliffe To Take Up Ballet

Daniel Radcliffe is taking ballet lessons.
The 19-year-old actor is so worried he won't be able to find a job after the 'Harry Potter' films come to an end he has decided to don tights and slippers in a bid to make him more employable.
He told Esquire magazine:

"I'm learning the basics of ballet. The thing is, in a few years I'll be 21, 22, and that's when all the guys who've been at drama school will come out.
"They've been learning dance or singing and all that stuff and I'm going to need to compete with them because I won't have ‘Harry Potter’ as my safety net any more. I need to make myself as viable a choice for any part as I possibly can."

Is he joking? It's really early in the morning and I can't tell.

Radcliffe and his co-stars Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright and Tom Felton will wear white wrist ribbons at the world premiere of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' in London tonight, in tribute to murdered cast member Rob Knox.
Knox – who played Marcus Belby in the movie – was stabbed outside a bar in Kent, England, in May, just weeks after filming wrapped.
Daniel said:

"What happened to Rob was awful."

Bonnie Wright – who plays Harry's love interest Ginny Weasley – added:

"The premiere is going to be a traumatic experience for his family."

I can't even imagine.

With every article & interview, I fall more in love with these young actors. They are so NORMAL and caring and down to earth. They could teach some of Hollywood's starlets (and their agents, etc) a few lessons. ;)

I agree with CL. These are great kids.

So sad about their castmember. I hadn't heard. His poor family. :(

Okay, sorry I didn't mean to come across as insensitive. That's a horrible thing to have happened, and I wish that his family can take this movie as a special thing, to be able to watch him and remember him. (I really mean it... Gosh, I hope I'm not sounding like a jerk...)

I haven't heard about their co-star, so sad.
What is it with me, crying over poeple i don't know. I just googled and it says that he was protecting his younger brother. The story is truely awful, i won't go into the details.

He seems like a cool guy, and all that happened to his friend was awful, but that picture makes him look like a zombie. Not the figurative kind; the real kind, that wants to eat brains.

I don't think he'll have any trouble landing work and I feel terribly for Rob Knox. Tragic.

I also enjoy all the interviews I've heard with at least the 3 main actors in the movie. I really like Tom Felton (Draco) as well. I don't think any of them will have problems finding work after HP is over (*sob*). I wonder why more younger actors in America don't come across as being this mature? What is the UK's secret to helping keep their young actors grounded that we seemed to have missed over here? I'm not saying there aren't ANY here... maybe we just see more of them because, well, we're here....

I believe that the UK's secret - well, Europe's secret, is that they do not they do not treat their celebrities like we do here in the U.S. Most Americans go completely ga-ga and worship the very ground that their entertainers walk on. Europe has royalty ... they are used to it far more than we are ... so, celbrities are like, second nature! Just my opinion! LOL

That's such a tragic story. It's a nice gesture of the HP cast to remember him in such a way.
