Love It Or Hate It: Corey Feldman

Love It Or Hate It: Corey Feldman

During Michael Jackson's memorial service, Corey Feldman paid tribute to his friend and showed up dressed like the singer. What do you think about Corey doing something like this? Was it out of respect? Or do you think he knew it would get media coverage?

He needs help. Why is he standing so high over everyone else? I smell opportunistic photo op. I am already disgusted with how everyone is scrambling to to make something for themselves off of this. The Jackson's reuniting? Wheeling out the kids? They have learned well from Joe, watch the circus that is about to ensue. The poor kids. What are the legal names? I about spit when I heard Brooke call one Blanket. I thought that was a media joke name.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Why does he look taller than everyone else? Because he is standing and the others are sitting down. He dressed like since he was young and Michael was still alive (since Michael was his idol and he openly confessed that on numerous occasions). And he did NOT testify against Michael. Quite the opposite (to another poster).

I think it was in very poor taste and a desperate act for attention.

I can't say if he was being opportunistic or not, but I'm pretty certain he didn't have to go out last minute and find any of this ensemble. He and MJ were really close and Corey emulated everything he did....
I think it was his way of paying homage.

Are you being serious Vera?? they were good friends since Corey was very young. Whats to love or hate about this?? it was his way to pay his respect. Is not a regular outfit. It was for a special occasion is understandable it makes perfect sense.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

i totally agree....no question...he loved him!!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

How dare he appear there when he testified AGAINST MJ at the trial? What a tool, and I am a HUGE fan of both coreys.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

he didnt testify against him!!!!!!!!!!!!! you're the tool! he testified in his favour!!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

I think that Corey did this because he knew it'd get him out there, even if for a little while, but at the same time, he did do this for Michael. Though I wish he would have come dressed normally to pay respect for his old friend.

Anonymousxx Anonymousxx said:

Attention. He was against MJ and told of what a perv he was, so he only showed up for his own gain, as most of the people around him appear to be doing. And.....Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson need to get jobs and quit living off donations and showing up for every freaking thing that concerns a black person.

I understand that his days as a child star are over. And he even said it himself at an interview that Michael pulled away from him as he grow older. But i think that he also had admiration for MJ as well as respect for his talent. He said it him self once that he wanted to be just like MJ at one point..so this is no surprise at all.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Well, it didn't get too much media coverage, this is the first I saw of it. and didn't even know he was there.

DesertChildAZ DesertChildAZ said:

This has nothing to do with media attention. Corey always dresses like Michael because, as he's always said, Michael is his idol and his friend.

DesertChildAZ DesertChildAZ said:

Oh, and Corey didn't testify AGAINST Michael. I don't recall ever seeing him call Michael a perv either. Can you cite a source for that information?

Exactly what i wanted to say. Corey Feldman never testified against MJ he was call to take the stand just like Macaulay Culkin for their testimonies on how MJ behave with them when they were younger. I have no idea where you got that information from@ 07:13 pm.

I don't ever recall him testifying against Michael....if anything he said that he was never sexually abused by Michael....I clearly remember him saying that.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

You are absolutely correct. Corey testified that MJ never abused him. Some of these posters need to do a little research and get their facts straight.

On his show the Two Corey's Corey Haim talked about being molested and said it was someone good friends with Corey Feldman. I always assumed he was referring to Michael Jackson but also felt Haim was only seeking attention since he was struggling to get back into the lime light. Feldman has always let it be known his love and admiration for Michael. I can think of at least three movies where he donned his Michael attire and performed a Jackson inspired routine. Even if they grew apart and Feldman disagreed with Michael's actions he still always remained a fan of his music. I believe what he did today was his way of paying his respects to his idol and NOTHING else. If you believe its him seeking attention from the media then the same thing could easily be said about Jermaine and family wearing the white gloves.

Well, either way, I heard Corey say (after Michael died) that they hadn't spoken in like five years, after having some kind of falling out. So whether he was emulating him or not, I think he should've tried to be a bit more low-key.

On a different note. Did anyone got to see Mariah performance?? and who thought her dress was a little unappropiate?? I said it the minute i heard she was gonna perform. That she was gonna see this has another concert and of course make it all about her. But fortunately everything turn out ok in my opinion. I was afraid this was going to be a circus, but it was a very touching tribute a special celebration of MJ's life and talent. I was very content with what was achieve with this memorial to him (minus Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson of course) R.I.P MJ we will never forget.
My favorite performances where

1. Usher-Gone too soon
2. John Meyer-Human Nature
3. Jermaine Jackson-Smile
4. jennifer Hudson-Will you be there...
It was a beautiful Memorial and i truly felt like it was a family member who i had lost. Truly emotional. I was in tears until Smokey Robinson took the stand and started talking about MJ it was so funny and sweet what he said about Michael singing the song he had wrote lol. I can go on & on....but i'll stop now :-(

It was a little tasteless. If this helps him feel better and connected then I feel it is fine. Just bc they had a falling out doesn't mean they didn't have a meaningful friendship.
I've been watching coverage like crazy. This is the first time I've seen him ~ Liz ~

I remember hearing Corey Feldman talk about the reason for the falling out with Michael happened immediately after 9-11. Michael had paid to send some buses into New York to retrieve his friends near where the devastation occured, but when Corey tried to contact Michael, he found out that no buses were coming to pick Corey up, who was in New York at the time. (if I remember correctly, Michael wouldn't return Corey's pleading calls from New York either). He was extremely hurt by the slight.

After reading all the comments, I still stand by my first thought - that he did it out of respect. When someone of importance dies, it's nice to see people wearing something that reminds them of that person. The actors at the Harry Potter premiere are going to be wearing wristbands in memory of the actor that was murdered. On a personal note, a few months ago when the marching band director for Boise State University died, a lot of his former students (myself included) wore our marching band shirts out of memory. I think it's very respectful.

Geez....it never ceases to amaze me how people judge other people. You do not KNOW Feldman, his sorrow, his thoughts or his motivations. The Good Lord must be looking down at all of this, thinking to Himself "These people never learn. They villified Michael for years, they villify every action he made, every though he had and look how he ended up. They continue to do it, over and over. They will never stop judging people long enough to realize that I make each and every one of them unique, not to be strange or judged, but to set them apart from each other." Remember, every time you judge a person, you are telling God that you don't think He's capable of judging them when He thinks the time is right.

No, I don't think it is a stupid question. People here have different opinions as to why he wore this outfit, as can be seen by looking at the comments people have made!! Obviously, there is not a single opinion, if you read the comments, which it looks like you haven't. I'm back and I'm clad in plaid :)

The only difference between the various comments are that some are educated comments and others are uneducated comments; Some have done their research and others have not.

Corey is a really great guy, who is suffering so much due to the death of Michael. Everyones been giving him a bad press and he really doesnt deserve it! This is actually quite typical of the way Corey dresses in general so its a fitting tribute. Corey and Michael were extremely good friends in the 80's and people need to remember this before bashing his intentions!

I think the fact that he was set to tesify against him at one point shows how he felt. The outfit is disrepectful if you ask me. I think he feels bad now, but it doesn't change that he decided to no longer be friends with him in 2002.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

He testified Michael never abused him.

DesertChildAZ DesertChildAZ said:

Corey was never "set to testify AGAINST him". The verasity and the extent to which people will spew false information without ever looking any of it up to confirm whether it's factual or not is disturbing.

Do you understand the DAMAGE that one false statement posted on a board can lead to? It spreads like wildfire. Look up "Jordan Chandler" and you will see how fast one false statement spread across the internet just days after Michael Jackson died.

Do you have no conscience about how your inaccurate words can affect someone's life or someone's opinion dramatically?

As a teen, Feldman -- known for his roles in movies such as "Gremlins," "The Goonies" and "Stand by Me" and who appeared in the first season of the celebrity reality show "The Surreal Life" -- became good friends with Jackson. They were often seen together, dressed in similar outfits. Their friendship waned and finally ended in 2001.

Feldman stressed in his interview with Bashir that Jackson never molested him or touched him improperly and that there was no sexual contact between them.

"He never did anything out of line. I mean anything, you know," Feldman said in a 1993 audiotape made by authorities. "I mean, the closest he ever came to touching me was maybe slapping me on the leg once."

Feldman said he defended the singer in 1993 because he thought he was being a loyal friend. "I did what I believed was right as a friend," Feldman said. "I defended him up and down. ... I did so publicly, and I did so behind closed doors with police."

for those of you out there that don't want to research Feldman v MJ. I did it for you...
