Hayden Panettiere wants to be known for being a great actor and not her private life. The ‘Heroes‘ star says if she could emulate anyone’s career, it would be that of Meryl Streep.

“I love acting. It’s something I respect. It’s something that makes me want to be respected for what I do. I’m working toward being a respected actress. Meryl Streep is it for me.

Hayden also understands because she’s famous, she must act a certain way and always feels pressure to put on the right show.

“Just because I’m in the spotlight doesn’t mean I’m God’s gift to the world. I do have cameras in my face all of the time. Fame leaves you no room to mess up even slightly, and things get turned around on you.

“That’s why I feel you really do have to live your life conscious that people are watching. There are certain things you just can’t do.

Speaking to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper, Hayden also confessed she would love to play a villain one day on film.

“You don’t play villains unless you’re Sharon Stone when you’re blond and you look a certain way,” she said. “I think it would be exciting for me to play the bad guy in a movie. It would be a blast. I think it’s so much fun to play bad.”

If you could choose – which type of character would you like to play in a movie? I’ve always been fascinated with magic.

She’s very “famous” for her diva-like attitude and treating people like crap.

Earth to Hayden— Heroes, I Love you Beth Cooper, and Hoodwinked 2 do not and WILL NOT ever make you Meryl Streep…. I don’t care how cute you were in Remember the Titans.

  3. Erika1980 says:

She’s just annoying! About 95% of the stories you hear about her have to do with her being a pretentious brat. I’m sure she was great in Ice Princesses or Bring it On: All or Nothing. She’s got some pretty big shoes to fill (and make some better selections of movies) if she hopes to be like Meryl Streep.

I cannot believe you used ‘great’ and the movie ‘bring it on’ in the same sentence. Wow. I think this chick is a horrid actress and her attitude just reeks so stank.

  5. emches says:

My dis like for her is b/c her she is a Dinsney star….in all the cheerleader movies, movies that my children watch….. and now she wants to show the whole world her naked body. When she fails at an “adult” role, she’ll go back to making movies for kids again. Please either set an example or don’t. —em’s

SHE NEEDS TO TONE THOSE UGLY ARMS !!

  7. Feewer says:

I haven’t seen any of her movies and I don’t watch Heroes, so I don’t really know if she’s any good. She looks like one of those “dumb blonde” kinda girls. (I have nothing against blondes BTW)

  8. Erika1980 says:

I guess you couldn’t detect the sarcasm in the use of “great.”

  9. dolphinlover88 says:

I used to like Hayden, but she comes across as having such a holier-than-thou attitude.

  10. Lizzypoo says:

she looks awesome in that dress, but i still feel being almost naked in public is unacceptable. She’s showing too much ~ Liz ~

  11. Nicole says:

She’s going to lose all of my R-E-S-P-E-C-T when she does her little girl on girl scene in Heroes.

  12. Nimbus says:

    Meryl Streep… bwhahahahahah needed a good laugh…

“That’s why I feel you really do have to live your life conscious that people are watching. There are certain things you just can’t do.”

that’s exactly my problem with the moral of our society. you better try to do the right thing ALTHOUGH noone is watching. if she only functions in a good way UNDER CONTROL then she must be really ugly on the inside.

  14. dieselchicklett says:

Isn’t this the same girl a couple of days of go was saying in an interview that she couldn’t wait to get naked on a film???….OH YEAH…very Meryl Streep.

  15. Gisela says:

Good catch, I forgot about that quote, for her to become a serious actress and gain respect she needs to keep her clothes on. I was watching Meryl last night on Kramer vs. Kramer, Sophie’s Choice and The French Lieutenant’s Wife…she was and is a great and respected actress; she has earned every bit.

  16. lara jane says:

Meryl is “it” for everyone, dear. And you have a long, long way to go.

  17. Gisela says:

LOL….yup, Meryl set the bar very high, my 18 year old son is in love with Meryl.

  18. eevandyck says:

I wonder how seriously people will take her if there’s girl on girl action in Heroes. I mean REALLY? If you’re going to go that route, then at least do it in a respected, tasteful film.

    She really bugs me.

  19. Wonder_Woman says:

Im sorry but whats makes her SOOOOOOOOO famous again besides a show called Heores? The last movie I remember her in was in Rasing Arizona wear she played a really deep part of an actress playing a snotty teenage brat

  20. Anonymous says:

Are you about Raising Arizona?? It came out in 1987 and she was born in 1989. The math just doesn’t work.

  21. Anonymous123 says:

she will never be the next Meryl Streep….EVER!

  22. Manimal says:

I like her a lot. Heroes made her; what’s wrong with that? I also remember her as Sheryl Yoast in Remember the Titans. Very young, but awesome.

  23. Wonder_Woman says:

your a heroes nerd, your opinion doesnt count manimal :p (BTW remember the titans was an awesome movie and her character was REALLY cute)

  24. merce369 says:

“That’s why I feel you really do have to live your life conscious that people are watching. There are certain things you just can’t do. ”

And she forgot to mention that there things that you just can’t say as well. Like the quote that dieselchicklett mentioned.

  25. charitygc says:

Her makeup and hair look great!

  26. Manimal says:

I may be a Heroes nerd, but that still doesn’t explain the hate for Hayden! Kinda surprising, too. I didn’t think she rubbed so many people the wrong way. What’s wrong with idolizing one of the best actresses ever? You don’t think people who idolized Michael Jordan were bad. Or Jerry Rice. Or William Faulkner. Or whoever. What’s wrong with shooting for the stars?

  27. Wonder_Woman says:

lol aww manimal im sorry if i insultd your gf :3. I never really had much of a problem with her, I actually adored her for her save the whales campaign but it seems lately the more she talks the more less sense she makes. Plus, she goes on about being an actress but I havent seen her in any roles that have really challanges her acting ability.

  28. Manimal says:

Ha ha. I just like her, and I don’t get the INO Community’s dislike of her. I just don’t see it, and was trying to give another example as well as coerce an explanation out of someone. That’s all.

  29. Anonymous says:

I agree with you Manimal. I don’t understand a lot of the hate on this site. Especially when it’s not backed up with anything (like you, Wonder Woman).

  30. Wonder_Woman says:

you spend way too much time looking into my comments Anonymous dear, all i said is im waiting to see her take a role that will actually take her to that path of being a great actress. I dont see that as hate sweetheart

  31. bgduckie_01 says:

yeah same here. i used to like her but now that she keeps on talking about all these things she just sounds too annoying…
