Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Buying A Home In NYC

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are set to move to New York.
The couple – who have previously rented different properties at a cost of around $100,000 a month when working in the Big Apple - have been looking around the Apthorp, a 1908 property in Manhattan currently being converted into lavish homes.

"The gated courtyard means they can get in and out of their car without being hassled by paparazzi. The building also has several other exits.”

The most expensive apartments – which boast up to 13 bedrooms and have 11-foot ceilings and 14-inch wide hallways – cost $15.5 million but Brad and Angelina are considering buying two or three properties to join onto one another to provide plenty of space for the six children they raise.
The source added to the New York Daily News newspaper:

“I heard they're ready to spend as much as $25 million.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick and Alec Baldwin are also believed to have viewed the building with a view to buying property there.

Brad and Angelina already own homes in Los Angeles and New Orleans.

I've heard that Jill Zarin of Real Housewives of NYC is looking into that building. At least that's what her Facebook says.

I read that she put her current apartment (the one that was remodeled for the show) on the market...

I wish her the best of luck in selling that apt. Her remodeling taste was ghastly. I can't remember what Bethany said when she saw it for the first time, but she likened it to something she would have imagined if she was on an acid trip.

You are thinking of Simon and Alex's apartment.

No, I'm not. Their apt was really atrocious too, but I am talking abut Jill's. Remember, all the baby blu wallpaper and all the knick knacks. It looked so cluttered.

At $100,000/month rent, I don't understand how they can afford this kind of living. That's 1.2 million dollars/yr. I know they both make tons of money per picture, but at that rate it seems like their money would dry-up sooner or later. Either that or they both will be making movies well into their 90's.

$100,000 pr month is a drop in the bucket considering their combined salary, combined future earning potential plus the profits made on investments and real estate over the years (even in this depressed economy).

whatever happened to living in New Orleans?

Anonymous Anonymous said:

yeah, i thought NOLA was 'home' and where they felt the most comfortable and has the most privacy. i hate them both.

It was New Orleans, then it was France. If these reports are true, then they must be extremely fickle people or they get bored very easily.

Let's not forget Berlin. They both "loved" Berlin sooo much.

The $100,000 a month is referring to the house they rented on Long Island for about 3 months while filming Salt. Celebrities rent at these prices all of the time so it's not unusual. The studio usually pays for most or all of housing when filming is going on. Also this is probably a publicity stunt. On another site it said the building was having a lot of trouble selling units. So this is probably a stunt to get people to buy.

14-inch wide hallways? I thought 15 mil could buy you at least 20-inch.

It's all bogus PR from the developers...they are desperate to unload those apartments and are name dropping like to crazy to create "buzz" and interest.

Here's a thought...lower your prices, this ain't 2006.

I just visited NOLA. They're trying to sell their house there. The only good that came from them living there is Brad's "Make it Right" project. He's a wonderful person for that, but looks like they only call a place "Home" if they work there. Hmm. Oh well.

Am I the only one that thinks its rediculous that they think they need something larger than a place with 13 bedrooms for their 6 children? I come from a family of six kids and we never needed that much room. Of course it would have been nice, but this article mentions they need more than 13 bedrooms alone?! Insane and pure greed.

Wasn't Angelina going to buy a beachfront house in Portugal?

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Many children in Africa could have safe life for that amount of money.

Angelina can't concern herself with children of the world that could use financial help (to say the least). All she is pretending to be concerned for are her current "accessories".
