The Show Must Go On????

Michael Jackson will perform from beyond the grave in London next month.
The late singer’s ‘This Is It’ show is being planned to take place at The O2 arena – where the ‘Smooth Criminal’ singer had sold-out a 50-night residency – on August 29, the day of Michael’s 51st birthday.

A life-like hologram of the ‘King of Pop’ will be projected on stage and perform parts of his planned set to fans accompanied by the backing dancers he had been rehearsing with before his death last month.

It is also believed the pop star’s children – Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’ – will take to the stage for the grand finale with Michael’s brothers and sisters, like they did at his Los Angeles memorial on Tuesday.

Britain’s Got Talent’ singer Shaheen Jafargholi – who performed ‘Who’s Lovin’ You?’ at the ceremony - has reportedly been approached about singing a Jackson 5 medley, taking on the vocals Michael performed as a youngster for the planned show.

AEG promoter Randy Philips – the man behind Michael’s O2 residency - says it is important everyone gets to see what would have been an “amazing show”.
Earlier this month, he said:

“The world needs to see this production. It would have been - which is the tragedy here - one of the most amazing shows ever, so at some point we want the world to see that. The sooner the better.”

Meanwhile, a popular Los Angeles tourist attraction will be renamed from Universal CityWalk to Universal Moonwalk tonight.
From 7pm this evening, the entertainment center will be transformed into a huge Michael Jackson tribute party, featuring outside screenings of movie ‘The Wiz’ – which Michael starred in - and the music video for ‘Thriller’.

I call a foul on this. They don't give a crap about "the whole world needing to see it." All AEG cares about is recouping their money. The hologram thing to me just screams tacky and distasteful. The man was exploited enough in life, it be nice if it wasn't done in his death. Oh, and leave his kids out of it! They do not need to be paraded around on stage for the sake of making the promoters some money.

I think this is a little weird...especially if the family is involved and it happens soon. Weird!

I wish all this MJ craziness would just go away. It's so overhyped and I'm sick of it. As if the "memorial service" wasn't enough...

he deserved this and more when he was alive for all the great humanitarian things he did around the world. it is just sad that it comes to late.

Me logging onto this site and reading this post has NOTHING to do with my comment. Make some sense, would you? I agree that the guy was an incredible entertainer and philantropist, but geez, do we have to canonize him because of it? I think it's all insanely overblown hype that I hope dies down soon, not just because it's so over the top, but mostly for his 3 kids. You disagree, so be it, you're entitled.

This is disgusting. I hope the people who bought tickets for the concert have the option of attending or getting a full refund. He kept his children so private all their lives (to an extreme) I really hope his family does not start parading them around.

I actually think it's a great idea - all except for the kids part. I think those who bought tickets would love to see even a hologram of him in the performance he was supposed to give. But leave the kids & the family out of it.

This is weird. Why would his fans want to go see a hologram of him. The whole idea is stupid and all about the money.

I LOVE THE IDEA. I THINK THAT IT IS WONDERFUL. HOLOGRAM IS A WAY TO SHOW SOMETHING LIFE LIKE IN FORM. IT'S NOT HIM BUT HE WANTED HIS FANS TO SEE IT. IT JUST BETTER LOOK GOOD.

Man, some people will do ANYTHING to make money! Still...this is pretty innovative, if not a little creepy...you KNOW some fans will want to see this. I wonder how it will go. It will be interesting to hear of the outcome, financially and otherwise.

I think that doing this will be great for his fans. I mean they were so looking forward to this show and for him to pass away so suddenly, it must have been a real blow to them. So this event will be great, yeah.

LOL MJ is sooooooooooo not dead. This is all a hoax for him to get out of debt and redeem himself in the eyes of the public. The hologram will be him. Why haven't they 'buried' him yet? And at the end of his memorial the screen said "I am alive"

i highly doubt he did all this just to avoid his debts and reputation. he was capable of getting himself out of it, if the public just allowed it. you ask "why havent they buried him yet"? they're conducting the autopsy thats supposed to take 6 weeks. as ludicrous as it sounds, if it means that Michael Jackson can be with his children again, i actually would've liked for him to have done all this even if its just to get 'out of debt'. but i truly believe Michael Jackson wouldn't do it because he was raised with morals and ethics. although his father was an a$$hole, his mother seems a right lady.

A michael jackson hoax would have been the best move that he has ever made as his album sales are through the roof. Either way Mike is BY FAR the best entertainer that has EVER lived.
