Fact Or Fiction: Tony Romo Dumped Jessica Simpson Because Of A John Mayer Text Message
Today's Fact or Fiction is about Jessica Simpson’s recent break up. Rumor has it her ex-boyfriend dumped her after he found text messages from her past lover.
Tony Romo, who split from Jessica last week, was reportedly furious when he discovered the singer-and-actress was still in touch with her former boyfriend John Mayer.
When Jessica refused to explain why she had kept the messages from the musician, Tony decided to end their 20-month relationship on the eve of her 29th birthday.
A source told gossip website RadarOnline:
“They were hanging out and he picked up her phone and she got defensive about it. Tony found messages from John and went ballistic.
“Tony dumped her right then. He walked out and that was it.”
Jessica was so devastated by the split she cancelled her Barbie and Ken-themed birthday party last Friday.
A source said:
"Jessica was too heartbroken to have a big bash. She knows that she and Tony are broken up for good. They were heading in different directions."
Since the break-up, Tony has been seen partying with friends at Los Angeles nightspots MyHouse and the Key Club.
It has been claimed Jessica’s father-and-manager Joe Simpson added to the increasing strain on their relationship.
Joe’s constant involvement in his daughter’s personal life reportedly became too much for Tony to handle.

People break up for more than just one reason... I also wonder if that whole Joe Simpson getting too involved in his daughters' personal lives is true because they always mention it so it could be... that would definitely put a strain on any relationship!

I guess having a guy grow tired of a girlfriend that seems to have the mentality of a 10year old and a mouth that works faster than her brain, and doesn't know when to shut it up during an interview wouldn't be a good enough excuse for the tabloids. Either her dad planted this story or the tabloid writers are trying their hand at writing a soap opera. And anyone who watches a soap knows that a character absolutely can not break up with her man unless there is one waiting in the wings..be it a new one or someone from her past.

This story sounds false, but if it's true that he broke up with her the day before her birthday then Tony Romo doesn't sound like the greatest guy.
She was planning a Ken and Barbie themed party. Really, could you blame him for bailing?

Who the hell throws a Barbie & Ken themed birthday party? It's like she was trying her hardest to get dumped. I like Jessica, I feel bad that she's always getting beat up in the press and can't seem to keep a guy. But damn, girl needs to get a clue. You don't make the Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys (or any guy for that matter) show up as Ken to a freaking Barbie party. He'd be the laughingstock of Texas. You're almost 30 years old. Yeesh.
Oh it sounds like Romo was just looking for an out and saw an opportunity to shake her lose and took it. And yes, sounds like she was taking the "how to lose a guy in ten days" thing seriously...A Barbie and Ken party? What guy, especially a football player, wants to dress up like a doll for a party?? If any of this break-up rumor is truth then it was just wrong. A couple should be able to give eachother the opportunity to explain themselfs and talk things out. Althought i personally think that this sounds like pure fabrication. And growing apart has lots to do with a couple separating.

Am I the only one who thinks this break-up is farce so Tony can go into the Dallas Cowboy footbal season without Jessica ridicule and blaming her when they lose? i dont believe they broke-up, I think it is a football stunt to save Roma face during the football season.
