Fact Or Fiction: Janet Jackson Wants Custody Of Michael Jackson's Kids
Rumor has it that Janet Jackson wants custody of Michael Jackson’s three children.
The late ‘Man in the Mirror’ star had reportedly discussed his wishes for his kids - Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, seven, known as ‘Blanket’ – in the event of his death and was even planning to draft a new will to amend custody details.
A source said:
“There was a lot of rifts in the family, but Janet was the one person he spoke to regularly and he made sure the children kept in touch with her too.
“Ultimately, he wanted Janet to look after the children, with help from his mother Katherine, and was planning to draft a new will to reflect those wishes. He trusted Janet implicitly.“When he had health concerns, he had a talk with Janet about how much she meant to him and the children, and how if anything happened to him, he wanted her to make sure the children would be loved and cared for in the same way he was raising them. She told him of course she would.”
Michael’s most recent will, written in 2002, named Katherine as the children’s guardian but Janet – who accompanied the children to their family home to retrieve their belongings after the singer’s death last month – has the support of her siblings in taking over as primary carer.
The source added to Britain’s Grazia magazine:
“The family think this could be a great idea – they are supportive of Katherine, but although she is in good health, she is nearly 80 and they are worried she is not up to the task.
“Janet is blossoming into a woman with tremendous untapped maternal instincts. The children automatically turn to her for comfort and direction.”
What do you think? Are Michael's kids better off with Janet since she is younger? I didn't realize Katherine was almost 80. How could she possibly care for three young children?

Is it safe to say that Janet is the least crazy of the Jacksons? For whatever reason, she was the first one I thought of as an answer to the "who'll raise these kids?" question. One way or another, I'm sure she'll play a large role in their lives

I think she would be a good fit. She appears to loving and very caring. And they look to be very comfortable with her. Not that the grandmother would not be a good fit, its just that she is older and should not have to raise anymore kids as her children are all grown. She should be able to enjoy just being a grandmother

I think she suits the role of main caregiver best. Hope this is true, at the end of the day as it was already whoever gets the kids i hope they'll be well cared for.

Either Janet or Rebbie would make good guardians. As long as LaToya and Joe aren't their main care givers or given control over their trust funds I think everyone will be happy.
Janet would be an excellent choice for Michael's children! Between Janet and her mother. However, Joe should be kept out of the picture as much as possible and Debbie Rowe has no real emotional link whatsoever as far as the kids are concerned. For Janet to be chosen it makes sense she's younger & better able and obviously closer to the kids than most. The kids need a sense of normalcy that Michael tried so hard to give them. Janet would only ensure that. Joe & Debbie would not.

I think they need to be with someone younger. 80 is too old, those kids are very young, they need to be raised by someone that can be active.

I am sure the grandmother loves the children and would be a great fit. But, she is much older and I was wondering if she even had the strength to raise them. Janet would be a good and decent choice. I think the grandmother will still have an active role in their lives even if they are with Janet. Just please keep them away from Joe because he just see dollar signs when he look at them. He treated his own kids like crap.

Please let this be true. She would be an amazing mom to those kids and she is young and down to earth and has the ability to let them lead a 'normal' life. Kathrine is just too old to look after such young kids, they need someone who will be around for the long haul. This whole situation makes me so sad.

I think Janet would be a good guardian to the children.
She's the most sane Jackson, so as long as Joe is kept far far away it'll work great.
That makes the most sense. Janet was very close with Michael. Also Janet has her own money so out of all the siblings I believe she does not need those kids as a meal ticket. Hopefully for the childrens sake this will be resolved

I think the fact that at the memorial Paris went into Janet's arms after talking about her dad says a lot. She obviously feels safe with Janet. I think she'd be a great guardian to them, especially if she keeps them away from Joe..

I think that would be the best solution. Janet and her older sister Rebie seem to be the most stable siblings of the family. When Paris spoke at the memorial, and ran into Janet's arms I could not contain my own tears.

i have to agree with everyone so far, janet would be the best choice to have guardianship over michaels 3 children. she young, energenic and loves those kids as if they are her own. she'll raise them to be loving and caring adults and wont use them like some of the other jacksons would.

I think Janet would be the best person to raise the children. She obviously loves them and though there grandmother would want to do it, Janet is a better fit.
Oh I so hope this turns out to be true. I think Janet would be great at looking after the children. They obviously love her, the memorial showed that. This makes perfect sense and I hope it happens.

I think Janet would be a great guardian to the three children. i have this fear that Katherine would get custody but Debbie Rowe would get visitation rights and in the event of anything happening to Katherine, Debbie would get custody because she has had regular access. With Janet, i cant see that happening, the children would be well cared for for the forseeable future, god willing. The kids clearly have a close relationship with the Jackson's, the memorial proved that, but it is clear they have a clear emotional bond with Aunt Janet.
Perfect Janet should definitely raise those children. At the memorial both Prince and Paris cuddled Janet on the stage ofter Paris now famous speech about her daddy.
janet is realisticlally the best member of the family to become thier legal guardian. shes young, healthy and will be around a lot longer then their grandparents. plus i think that she will protect them and guide them well. if its left to the granparents to look after them then it is likely that they will will be on stage by this time next year.
