Kelly Preston Is Picking Up The Pieces

Kelly Preston Is Picking Up The Pieces

She will forever be broken, make no mistake about that... but Kelly Preston is starting to function again. I get goosebumps every time I think about her. It's all just too devastating. I ache for this family and for all other families that have to suffer losing a child.

The actress is ready to work again after the tragic death of her son.
The actress - who was left devastated when her 16-year-old son Jett with husband John Travolta suffered a fatal seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas in January - has been filming tough scenes for new movie 'Casino Jack' and it is helping her to deal with her grief.
The film's director George Hickenlooper said:

"She wanted to do this to get back to work. She talked to me about her loss. She is deeply affected by it and brought that to her character."

Earlier this month, it was revealed Kelly will speak publicly for the first time about Jett's death.
She will address the California Governor's Conference for Women in October, after being persuaded to by host Maria Shriver.
Maria said:

"If she can empower one other woman who feels like they can't get out of bed, or get through the day, whatever the loss, it'll be worthwhile sharing her story. She has been thinking about this for a couple of months. I asked her to speak and she knew about the conference and decided if she was only going to speak once, it would be here. She wants the conversation to be about more than just her."

Brave woman... andd it's true. Perhaps she can help other women dealing with the same issue.

What an awful thing to go through. You don't see John much anymore. No parent should have to lose a child. Unfortunately, it happens every day. ~ Liz ~

I agree. I was thinking about them while watching the MJ funeral and told my husband that it has been a while since anyone saw or heard from them/

I lost my daughter 6 yrs ago. It does get better over time. We were moving when she died and everything was packed up before her accident. When I unpacked the windchimes she had given me for mothers day, I was a basket case for a week.

Good for her, getting out there and working again! I cannot imagine (and hope I never will) what she has gone through. I hope she is able to heal as much as she can. Amy, my thoughts and prayers are with you, I am so sorry for your loss.
